Job Description ICON Builders is seeking a motivated Junior
Business Development Associate to join our growing team to expand
ICON Builders' pipeline and presence. This is a client-facing
position designed for someone who is eager to build relationships
in the affordable housing industry and represent ICON Builders to
help drive new opportunities. You'll prospect targets, book
meetings, support proposal packages, and attend industry events
throughout the Western U.S. with occasional national travel. With
strong mentorship and a clear growth path toward BD Manager, this
role is an exciting way to launch or advance your career in
business development in the affordable housing industry. This is a
full-time, travel-friendly role based out of ICON Builders' Tempe,
Arizona location. What You’ll Do Prospect & research:
Build/maintain target lists (developers, owners, agencies,
architects); track RFP/RFQ calendars; nurture existing
relationships. Outbound & follow-up: Book intro calls/meetings,
send crisp recaps, own next steps; keep clean CRM records.
Conferences & events: Coordinate booths, sponsorships, collateral,
and meeting slates; attend to network and represent ICON Builders.
Client meetings & site walks: Join in-person visits; capture action
items and route to Preconstruction/Operations teams. Internal
coordination: Partner with Preconstruction to align pursuits;
assemble qualification packets; tailor SOQs/proposals. Market
intel: Monitor competitors, funding timelines, pipeline shifts;
source new opportunities/new markets. Reporting: Provide weekly
updates on meetings, new opportunities, and funnel movement. What
You Bring 0–2 years in business development, sales, marketing, or
other client-facing roles (construction/real estate/housing is a
plus). Excellent written/verbal communication; confident in person
and on the phone. Highly organized; able to juggle priorities and
meet deadlines. Proficient with Microsoft 365 ; familiar with CRM
(HubSpot/Salesforce or similar). Willing to travel 30–50% ,
including overnights; valid driver’s license (travel ID).
Nice-to-have: exposure to affordable housing programs, general
contracting, and RFP/RFQ processes. Bachelor’s degree preferred
(Business, Communications, Construction Management, or related) or
equivalent experience. Success Looks Like (6–12 Months)
Consistently setting qualified meetings with target clients. 100%
CRM hygiene for accounts, contacts, and activities. Driving 3–5
active pursuits/quarter with clear next steps and internal
coordination. Polished, on-brand conference presence with
