      Job Summary

      Provides journey level electrical work which may include installing, troubleshooting, inspecting, maintaining, altering and repairing electrical lines, service panels, equipment and preventive maintenance.

      Essential Functions

      30% - Performs journey level inspections, repairs, installations, service, and maintenance of electrical systems including conduits, duct systems, light and power circuits, motors, generators, transformers, control equipment, switches and other types of electrical lighting and power components
      20% - Prepares and adheres to a schedule of periodic electrical system inspections and preventative maintenance; develops and maintains specifications for electrical systems and equipment
      20% - Performs cabling and wiring as necessary for the installation of computers and other equipment; computes loads requirements against available power sources, checks blueprints on new construction and remodeling to identify possible electrical maintenance problems; servers as electrical inspector of systems and equipment installations
      20% - Troubleshoots electrical problems of equipment, systems and components; performs electrical system redesigns and reconfigures; plans and estimates costs of special projects, maintains records, logs and system documentation; requisitions electrical supplies and materials
      10% - Cleans up after work is completed; performs general maintenance work; performs other related duties as assigned

      Minimum Qualifications

      High School Diploma or GED and four years of experience as a journey level electrician. There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED.

      OR

      An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

      Desired Qualifications

      A. Experience performing journey level electrical systems installation, repair and maintenance work. Preparing and adhering to maintenance schedules, following directions and meeting standards, providing attention to detail in assignments.
      B.. Experience with business math computations, comprehending blueprints, drawings, reference books and manuals. Interpreting and applying applicable laws, codes, regulations and standards.
      C. Knowledge of uses and properties of supplies and equipment. Specialized equipment relevant ot area of assignment (i.e., thermal imaging of all equipment and electrical panels)

      Special Working Conditions

      Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: Journey level card/license required; a valid Arizona Class D Driver's License may be required for some assignments; may require certifications associated with assignment.
