Engineering Technical Services is seeking a Business Analyst to design solutions that simplify technology for stakeholders at IRA A. Fulton Schools of Engineering.

To be successful, business analysts liaise with administrative staff, developers, technicians, and leaders to gather requirements, design systems, and create solutions that improve business operations.

Salary Range

$54,375 - $75,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties

Meets and consults with internal customers to understand and define current processes and challenges
Elicits requirements using interviews, requirements meetings, surveys, document analysis, site visits, use case and workflow analysis
Identifies and documents workflow processes using MS Visio
Creates business requirement documents (BRD)
Translates business requirements into functional requirements
Manages projects, ensuring all phases are planned, implemented, and completed
Documents and maintains projects in SmartSheets and other management software as needed
Works in conjunction with senior business analyst Adheres to departmental business analysis framework

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree AND two (2) years of experience in procedural, management or systems analysis work; OR, Six (6) years of experience in procedural, management, or systems analysis work; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/ or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

Demonstrates working knowledge of principles and best practices of business analysis according to the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).
Demonstrates excellent customer service skill
Experience collaborating with business analysts and project managers
Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Flexibility in and understanding of multiple project management frameworks and methodologies (i.e. Agile, waterfall, etc.)
Project management certification

Working Environment

Work collaboratively across various departments within Engineering as well as with diverse populations and groups across the University.
Use computers effectively - including inputting, reviewing and retrieving information, extended periods of viewing screen, and using mouse and keyboard
Use critical thinking to make decisions and/or analyze data.
Walks throughout campus for meetings or events, regardless of the weather
Sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
Ability to communicate across functional and non-functional teams to understand business needs and drive solution implementations.
Professionally represent department/program.
Ability to communicate and clearly explain concrete processes and abstract concepts both orally and in writing.
Ability to perform effectively as a member of a team.
