introduction video.About the positionThis individual contributor
position will use their analytic expertise to advise on inventory
management and pricing of Carvana's vast inventory of vehicles.
This position conducts comparative analysis of internal and
external performance reports and provides the insights and action
plans to ensure the vehicle categories support projected sales and
margin forecasts.What you'll be doing
- Conduct macro-level intelligence analyses (e.g., mix, pricing,
strategy, new models/features) to evaluate Carvana's competitive
position and identify potential areas for growth.
- Forecast expected Retail GPU for future years, quarters, and
months and monitor current month performance to provide guidance on
strategy
- Improve upon our existing margin modeling by developing a more
nuanced understanding of how to forecast specific cost and revenue
drivers.
- Develop reports that augment our current processes and decision
making, particularly in support of the Category Analysts.
- Work closely with the Senior Manager of Inventory Planning and
Analytics to identify areas of opportunity and partner
cross-functionally to drive change.
- Ensure Segment diversity and mix on Carvana.com, and recommend
changes to purchasing, pricing, and merchandising to match our
online mix to customers' preferences.
- Recommend additional changes across the business that improve
overall performance in line with financial / operational forecasts
and Carvana strategies.
- Consistently exercise independent judgment and discretion in
matters of significance. What the Job RequiresTo be able to do your
job at Carvana, there are some basic requirements we want to share

- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Statistics, Business
Management, Market Research, Finance or Economics.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in category and
inventory management, preferably in an eCommerce or
digitally-oriented organization.
- Strong analytical skills. Proficiency in SQL preferred, but not
required.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, data
science, and business teams and communicate across them in a clear
and concise manner understood by all.
- Ability to synthesize complex data from multiple sources into
insights and recommendations.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in
writing.
- Ability to work in an office environment, with extensive use of
computers.
- Ability to sit for up to eight hours per day. This job
