Systems Analyst Senior Arizona State University Design & Transition Campus: Tempe 67290BR Job Description The position of Systems Analyst, Senior is with the University Technology Office Design and Transition team. This team plays a part in service delivery to the entire ASU community. This person will perform professional work in the design, development, implementation, operation and maintenance of computer and business systems to meet user needs. They will also provide support to users of information technology tools. Work typically involves a combination of providing expert advice and troubleshooting on groups of software products or an entire environment, assessing, planning for, and implementing new technology, administering and maintaining shared-user systems, communicating with users and user groups on technology topics, and providing instruction. As with everyone in the UTO family, culture and communications are core responsibilities in this role. Salary Range Depends on experience Close Date 04-May-2021 Essential Duties --- Works with and between customers and cross-discipline technical teams to assist in all phases of architecture implementations at a variety of scales, including publicity, training, expert trouble-shooting and advice, vendor interface and advocacy. --- Works closely with project leadership to ensure resource availability and project prioritization. --- Maintains a high degree of technical knowledge and expertise on a group of technology products or on a technology platform through research, personal use, vendor presentations, and training. --- Advises customers on standard tools and combinations of tools that are available or can be purchased or developed to meet specific needs. --- Works with chapter leadership, as well as other internal teams to identify and suggest resolutions to process issues. --- Where possible develops and recommends alternative solutions to existing systems and processes. --- Mentors other chapter staff in areas of technical expertise to ensure skill propagation. Establishes and maintains effective communications with customers, other technology specialists, and vendors about services. --- Collaborates and teams with others on a variety of technology and technology support projects. --- Writes and/or updates detailed user documentation and manuals for operational applications, including data flow illustrations; distributes or arranges distribution of system documentation. --- Conducts special projects/research as requested. --- Takes responsibility for fostering culture, advancing our values, and championing engagement in all its forms -- collaborating across our teams as well as participating in UTO/ASU events and programs. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field AND four (4) years experience providing information technology services; OR, Eight (8) years experience providing related information technology services, OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Certificates from recognized programs that indicate mastery tools and techniques relevant to the assignment may substitute for up to six months of experience. Desired Qualifications --- Demonstrated knowledge of Cloud based architectures and services (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc) --- Experience in architecture design for application implementations --- Experience working with Windows and/or Linux --- Experience with hands on customer support --- Experience working with agile, cross-functional teams --- Demonstrated knowledge of network architectures --- Demonstrated knowledge of security best practices --- Demonstrated knowledge of application/environmental integrations --- Evidence of having a AWS Cloud Practitioner and/or AWS Systems Architect certification is a plus --- Evidence of a ITIL v4 Certification is a plus --- Experience in modeling empathy, compassion and emotional intelligence --- Experience hiring in a values-led organization, emphasizing diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging --- Experience in helping foster a safe psychological space for all teammates where everyone can thrive --- Experience in stimulating changes in individual, institutional, and corporate behaviors to create a more sustainable environment --- Experience in leading by example in communicating, participating and encouraging support of the institution's sustainability program Working Environment --- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse. --- Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. --- Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds. --- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities and may be subject to resolution of conflicts. --- Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
