Job Summary
This position will assist the Faculty Chair with the management and
delivery of courses and department processes. Works closely and
collaboratively with adjunct faculty and other partners to support
a variety of initiatives that promote student success. Monitors,
trains, and evaluates adjunct faculty. Performs program
administration for the Behavioral Health Scholarship program.
This position reports to the Faculty Chair of Addictions and
Substance Use Disorders department, a department within the
Academic Affairs division, and participates in department meetings
and other activities.
Essential Functions
30% - Service as point of contact for adjunct faculty and students
in the Addiction Studies and Behavioral Sciences, addressing issues
and responding to questions related to curriculum
20% - Oversees the work of content specialist in course development
and helps maintain consistency within courses and department
20% - Assists with department policy and implementation, maintains
department portal for adjunct faculty
10% - Evaluates adjunct faculty and trains new adjunct faculty in
department philosophy, policies, and procedures
10% - Prepares proposals and reports for academic programs and
initiatives
10% - Participates in college advisory boards and committees;
identifies departmental needs and develops solutions; performs
other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in
education, organizational development or directly related field and
two years of related experience such as providing advanced program
coordination and consultation that includes one or more of the
following: planning, development, and/or implementing program
projects and activities in area of assignment. A Master's Degree
may be required for some assignments.
OR
An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly
related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to
successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those
listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements
set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.
Desired Qualifications
A. Meets MCCCD minimum requirements to teach in an academic
discipline
B. Experience teaching online college level courses
C. Experience in design, development, evaluation, and revision of
online instructional material and assessments
D. Experience training, mentoring, and evaluating staff, including
appropriate staff development activities
E. Experience working in a collaborative, interdisciplinary
environment
F. Active Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor
certificate, or equivalent
