Network Grants Coordinator
Compensation: $50,000-$65,000 annually, DOE.
Location: Remote- Must be in Arizona (some site visits may be required) Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is an academically advanced charter school network serving predominantly low-income and at-risk students, with a decade-long track record of being one of the highest performing K-8 charter schools in Arizona. Many scholars come to us performing 2 years below grade level and quickly achieve above grade level mastery at AMS. As part of the AMS family, your role as a Grants Coordinator is to ensure resources are allocated to each site to provide an equitable, effective instructional program to drive growth in academic outcomes. The position will work in a team with the Director of Grants to oversee management of federal and competitive grants, as well as assist with new grant and new school applications, compliance documentation, alignment of grant fiscal and programmatic needs, budget/reimbursement requests and work with admin teams to submit school planning documentation. Responsibilities throughout contract include: Writing federal entitlement grant applications, developing budgets, and tracking budgeted items in collaboration with finance, grants, and school admin teams
Revising grants to allocate new funding and carryover, adding approvable items, adding specifics within the verbiage, and to remove items not expended
Completing grant reimbursements as funds are expensed, completion reports at end of grant fiscal periods, and monitoring and compliance documents that follow department grant calendars
Attending Site review or monitoring visits as needed
Generating, updating, uploading, and submitting compliance documents in ADE's EMAC: Parent Involvement Policy, Parent-School Compact, Homeless Policy, Homeless Dispute Resolution, Homeless Identification, Parent's Right to Know, 4-Week Letter, Integrated Action Plan Methodology, Process for Determining accuracy of poverty data, Transportation Plan for Foster Care students, and Time and Effort logs
Following AMS Accounting and Federal Procurement policies and Asset Management processes
Working with teachers and administration to complete Comprehensive Needs Assessment
Analyzing Comprehensive Needs Assessment data and then identifying and addressing those needs in Integrated Action Plan Principles
Entering and updating School planning within the Grants Management system to reflect site priorities and goals
Enlisting support of admin teams and academic department to align budget narratives to specific subgroup and program needs- Ensure EL and EXED Scholars receive resources to fulfill objectives

The chance to truly make a difference in the lives of children who may not otherwise have access to a high-quality education Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies Have experience in overseeing federal and competitive grants and managing required documentation and compliance for federal entitlement grants such as Title I, Title II, Title III, and IDEA
AND/OR Deep, comprehensive knowledge of school program design including the following components: parent engagement, curriculum, instructional methodologies including various pedagogical philosophies
Have a basic understanding of accounting concepts as they relate to grants
Highly organized and self-motivated
Excellent writing and analytical skills
Ability to prioritize and clarify ambiguous goals and projects
Be strong in Office suite, particularly with Excel and using functionality such as sorting and analyzing data for statistical and reporting purposes
Have a deep commitment to helping at-risk students prepare for and succeed in college Preferred Skills and Experience Prior grant management experience for ESEA, NSLP, AZCSP, IDEA
Prior Educational Background/Programmatic knowledge of Academics
Ability to draft narrative about instructional methodologies and write to evidence-based practices
Bachelor's degree or higher in a related area
