Job DescriptionStatistics & Data Corporation (SDC), A global
contract research organization (CRO) headquartered in Arizona,
providing clinical trial solutions for pharmaceutical, biologic,
and medical device/diagnostic companies since 2005. Our core
expertise is strategic scientific consulting and clinical data
services which include biostatistics, data management/EDC, and
IRT/IWRS.Junior Business Development Associate Junior Business
Development Associate responsibilities include working with
Business Development, Accounting, Quality Assurance, Data
Management, Biostatistics, and clients/sponsors on a variety of
activities in the support of the overall business development
efforts of the organization. Coordinate the status of this work
internally and with the external client/sponsor as appropriate.
This work needs to be accomplished in a responsive, professional
manner with great attention to detail.Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Business Development (BD) and other members of
the organization to support a variety of company initiatives as
requested
- Support day-to-day BO activities including but not limited to:
- Forecasting
- Proposals
- New and existing business pipeline management
- Contracts (CDAs, MSAs, Work Orders, Amendments, etc.)
- Internal project kick-off meetings
- Communication of budgets for new and ongoing projects with
internal teams
- Coordination with Accounting regarding invoicing milestones
- Updating and maintaining CRM tool (Salesforce.com)
- Updating and maintaining all other internal tools as requested
- New lead generation
- Internal department communication/interaction
- Customer satisfaction program (related to both direct clients
and/or partners as appropriate)
- Marketing initiatives (trade shows, website, social media,
publications, etc.)
- Evaluate opportunities to improve efficiency within existing BO
processes/procedures
- Communicate with support staff in a positive, proactive style
to ensure project objectives are met
- Coordinate with Director, Business Development to discern when
to involve executive management to help reconcile problems/issues
with internal staff members and/or clients/sponsors
- Ensure the quality of all supporting services and support
efforts to quality check all business development deliverables to
clients prior to sending
- Support continuous improvement initiatives spearheaded by
executive management and/or department heads
- Comply with SDC's data integrity & business ethics
requirements
- Able to travel up to 25% of the time as needed for meetings,
industry conferences, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Adherence to all essential systems and processes that are
required at SDC to maintain compliance to business and regulatory
requirementsRequirements
- Exceptional communication skills both internally and
externally
- Understanding of contractual documents and ability to manage
these documents
- Situational awareness both internally and externally
- Independent, critical thinking ability
- Willingness to gain familiarity with industry guidelines (i.e.,
ICH Guidelines for Good Clinical Practice and Title 21 of the Code
of Federal Regulations)
- Analytical and problem-solving skills include ability to
identify and resolve problems early
- Ability to gain an understanding of clinical data management
and biostatistics analysis processes
- Professional level verbal and written communication skills
- Professional level computer skillsEducation or Equivalent
Experience:
- A bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering, applied or life
sciences or business is required. Two years of experience in
business development, account management, contracts management, or
purchasing in the clinical trial industry is preferred.
