PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Responsible for the preparation, handling, and supplying of materials to be used by other crafts. KEY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) *Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures *Supervise and coordinate activities of laborers and their assigned roles *Interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders *Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations *Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge capacities of equipment and assigned personnel *Study/analyze in schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of job *Analyze and resolve work problems *Maintain time records *May make cost estimate for contracts *Use logical step-by-step procedures in work *Plan work and solve problems *Make decisions based on measurable information *May operate machinery *Provides work direction to laborer I, II, Journeyman, Apprentice, and Helpers *Works according to standard, detailed instructions and established, well-defined procedures *Determines work method from alternative *Works under broad assignment *All other duties as assigned *All team members are expected to demonstrate the following characteristics: *Cooperate with others when in a team environment *Accept direction from supervisors *Follow work rules and procedures *Punctual and consistent attendance *Accept constructive feedback KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES *Ability to work with tools and equipment such as, power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills and jackhammers *Ability to work effectively with a variety of international and external constituencies from varied and diverse backgrounds, including line and execution staff, person representing industry, corporate, government, and community based organizations *Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk crouch, kneel, climb and periodically lift up to 50 lbs *Ability to work with machinery, such as, forklifts, skid loaders and power buggy's *Able to adapt communication style to the speaker and possess a high degree of active listening skills *Strong teamwork orientation *Positive attitude and professional customer service skills *Detail orientation EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS *Two-year apprenticeship may be required *Experience in construction preferred ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Frequency codes: (A) Always, (F) Frequently, (O) Occasionally, (N) Never A - See (naturally or corrected) A - Hear (naturally or corrected) A - Traverse construction site daily A - Balance A - Manual dexterity A - Arm steadiness A - Dirt F - Heat/Cold F - Excessive noise F - Grease/Oil O - Vibration F - Heights F - Confined spaces O - Sitting A - Standing A - Walking A - Crouching/Stooping A - Kneeling/Squatting F - Climbing A - Repetitive hand/arm/leg movements F - Lifting/Carrying Up to 50lbs F - Lifting/Carrying 50lbs F - Pushing/Pulling Up to 50lbs F - Pushing/Pulling 50lbs F ' Reaching (high or low) *Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling over 50 lbs will be done with assistance of another team member or equipment.
