Residency Classification SpecialistArizona State UniversityUniversity Registrar ServicesCampus: Tempe80218BR Job DescriptionUniversity Registrar Services seeks a Residency Classification Specialist to join the Residency Classification team at the Tempe Campus. This position works directly with students, university staff, and faculty by advising to the residency requirements and completing complex reviews of applications, petitions, and confidential and sensitive information and documentation in a faster-than-average pace. This position seeks to build positive and collaborative relationships with the university community while managing multiple priorities and acquiring ongoing skills and knowledge. Salary Range$17.79 per hour Close Date23-June-2022 Essential DutiesAdhere to and apply established guidelines and policies.Responds to inquiries and communicates with students, staff, and general public in person, by telephone, Zoom, or email, regarding the dissemination of applicable residency policies and processes, and university resources.Uses computer to research residency inquiries and verify the status of petitions via daily use of PeopleSoft, Salesforce, internet, and MS Office applications.Display strong attention to detail and concern for accuracy while evaluating petitions and summarizing decision-making process.Drafts correspondence; answers questions or complaints and makes recommendations and adjustments within established limits, especially for non-routine and complex issues.Serves as a reference source for section to assist staff, students and the public in resolving discrepancies; responds to questions and ensures necessary follow-up.Identify and recommend process improvements.Assists with special projects and with the training of new staff. Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field; OR, Four years of student affairs or business administration experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Desired QualificationsExperience in student support services in higher education.Experience in using analytical skills to make informed decisions and expressing ideas in a clear and logical manner.Experience with providing customer service in a team environment and in a high-volume service location.Evidence of effective communication skills.Experience in work that requires organization, attention to detail, and prescribed deadlines.Experience working with confidential and sensitive information and documentation.Demonstrated knowledge of higher education policies and procedures.Demonstrated knowledge of FERPA and other university policies and procedures.Experience in retrieving and updating information in a computerized student information and communication systems (e.g., PeopleSoft and Salesforce).Experience in using Microsoft applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel). Working EnvironmentCommunicate supportively, empathetically.Use computer equipment, software, and relevant computer systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, Jabber, Finesse, etc.)Analyze policies and processes to resolve issues.Frequent/constant sitting on chair at desk or work area.May require occasional lifting up to 15 lbs.
