Job DescriptionThe role of the Event Coordinator for the Knowledge for Resilience program, is to work with the Director, Assistant Director and other team members to plan and implement a variety of campus-wide and/or private events. This position will be the main contact for event management for the Knowledge for Resilience team. May also coordinate with other campus departments and/or off-campus groups for joint events.Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-TimeSalary Range: $50,000 - $55,000 per year; DOEClose Date: 11-May-2022Essential Duties

  • Act the main contact for event management for the Knowledge for Resilience team.
  • May also coordinate with other campus departments for joint events.
  • Attend all Staff retreats, Staff meetings, and training sessions.
  • Attend meetings with assigned Executives, Directors and/or vendors.
  • Serve as the department representative at meetings in the absence of the Assistant Director.
  • Maintain constant, positive, and effective communication with prospective external agents, companies, etc.
  • Return all e-mails and phone calls within 48 hours.
  • Cooperate and/or coordinate with other departments.
  • Plan large-scale events encompassing many activities to draw a large audience.
  • Have general knowledge and awareness to plan any event within their respective department.
  • Submit necessary documentation to process payments in accordance with Arizona State University local campus policies.
  • Maintain constant communication with Director and Executives before making any verbal or written decisions.
  • Assist in organizing and executing University Wide Campus efforts to promote the events.
  • This position reports to the Assistant Director. Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree and 2 years related experience; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.Desired Qualifications
    • Experience in planning and executing small to large scale events.
    • Experience in using organizational skills.
    • Knowledge of digital content management systems to create digital invitations, track RSVP, etc. Working Environment
      • Activities are performed in the field, doing interviews with community members and also in an environmentally-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse.
      • Required to stand for varying lengths of time and travel moderate distances to perform work.
      • Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
      • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
      • Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone, and associated computer technology peripherals.
      • This position receives a regular review of objectives.
