Position: Quality Control Chemist V Duration: 6 months contract, temp to hire (based on performance) Location: 8555 S River Pkwy, Tempe, AZ 85284 Schedule: Rotating between 1st or 2nd shift depending on business need. Must be willing to work OT and some weekends. Training will be 1st shift for 1 month. Job Description: Minimum with 1 year experience in analytical instrumentation such as wet bench chemistry analysis, HPLC, UPLC, UV-VIS, IC, particle analysis, trace metal analysis including sample preparation. Will be responsible analyzing product materials Data analytical experience required Have strong chemistry background 1-2 years lab experience, academic lab is acceptable Have good mathematic skills Must be comfortable working with acid Knowledge on how to follow safely protocols Bachelors in life science related field. Special Skills/Abilities: Must possess strong mathematical skills. Must be capable of carrying out team and self-directed research projects. Must be knowledge of chemical analyses and processes. Good computer skills required (scientific instrument software, Word, Excel, Outlook) Must be able to work in a team environment with good communication skills. Must have initiative and be self-motivated. Must possess good organization skills Job Requirements:Additional information/functions: Perform laboratory operations including chemical and physical tests such as metals analysis, some wet chemistry analysis and component analysis. Set up laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for QC tests, research, or process control Prepare reagents, samples, standards according to procedures. Suggest method improvements to chemists and/or laboratory manager. Document results of tests and analyses. Record test data and observations as a permanent record. Make calculations according to standard operating procedures/instructions. Compile and organize raw and refined data for clear communication and interpretation. Train laboratory chemists and technicians in chemical and physical tests. Tracking or performing routine maintenance on analytical equipment. Maintain appropriate laboratory supply levels. Accountable for effectively and efficiently organizing daily activities to achieve expected results. Responsible for maintaining safe working conditions and practices in compliance with established responsible care procedures. Comply with the EH&S requirements. Maintain higher housekeeping standard. Perform other related duties as assigned.
