Techlite is looking for a full-time, on site, Machinist to join our team today.
Work hours are typically Monday through Thursday from 6:00am to 3:30pm and Friday from 6:00am to 10:00am, with Saturday and Sunday off. The candidate must be flexible on work hours, right now the need is for a second shift from 2:00pm - 11:30pm Monday through Thursday and Friday from 1:00pm - 7:00pm on Friday. This shift may rotate back to the regular scheduled hours, this depends on the job demands. This is a full time position at our Tempe, Arizona facility.
Pay Range $18.00 - $20.00 per hour, this will depend on level of experience.
We are seeking a reliable Machinist with industrial manufacturing experience. Adaptability and willingness to be a team player is crucial. Working in a high volume, fast paced environment, this position will assist our Production department in the manufacturing of foam insulation and foam acoustic products. Experience with CNC 2 axis, and G-code is recommended.
The Machinist is responsible for performing production work to applicable performance standards. Working effectively in a team environment, the Machinist will start up, operate, tend, and stop a variety of equipment while maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Taking instruction from the level III Production Worker, Production Supervisor or Production Manager the Machinist will ensure conformance to all specifications, document actions by completing production and quality forms and report any and all equipment faults to supervisors. The Machinist's responsibilities will range from operating automated machinery, working with equipment for part grinding and shaping of foam material, measuring, cutting, gluing and assembly of parts, and packaging for shipping. The Machinist will use their authority to stop a non-conforming part or product by notifying their Supervisor or Quality Inspector as soon as possible. This position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
Priority Qualifications


  • Industrial manufacturing experience, with CNC equipment, cutting machines, and a basic understanding of G-code. Experience in gluing and assembly of parts. (Foam Material)
  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced open shop environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work tasks.
  • Willingness to learn multiple job functions and become a valuable team member.

    Job Requirements & Responsibilities:

    • Start up, operate, tend, and stop equipment.
    • Work stations require ability to stand and ability to sit for several hours.
    • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
    • Understand English job specifications, drawings, work instructions, and ensure conformance.
    • Work to applicable performance standards.
    • Basic math skills, measurements, frequent use of measuring tools for production.
    • Document actions by scanning in and out of production job traveler and quality control documents.
    • Work to applicable performance and quality standards.
    • Take instructions from supervisor and production manager.
    • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Report visual and audible equipment faults to supervisors.
    • Must be able to comfortably lift up to 40Lbs repeatedly throughout day shift.
    • ISO, LEAN or other quality system experience are a plus.

      PPE required for normal shop floor operations, safety glasses, closed two shoes and more depending upon specific job functions.
      The Machinist must demonstrate cognitive ability to, follow directions and routines, work independently with appropriate judgment, exhibit spatial awareness, read words and numbers, concentrate, memorize, and recall, identify logical connections and determine sequence of response and process up to 2-3 steps ahead. Ability to attend work on a regular, predictable and consistent basis and to commute to and from work safely and arrive at work on time.
      While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to airborne particulates, moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The noise level can be loud at times. Physical Demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. This position involves a variety of repetitive processes such as insertion of materials, alignment by hand and rotating fixtures by hand. The position also involves sitting, talking and, hearing throughout the day. The employee must also be able to safely lift up to 49 pounds or less repeatedly during the 8-10hour shift.
