Coordinator Senior (Communications-Outreach)Arizona State UniversityThe School of Civic and Economic Thought and LeadershipCampus: Tempe78478BR Job DescriptionThe School of Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership (SCETL) seeks a Coordinator Senior (Communications-Outreach) to join our fast-paced, high-energy team. The position will work under the direction of the Marketing and Communications Manager to plan, coordinate, and communicate about academic degree programs and community outreach for the SCETL Undergraduate and Graduate Programs. The coordinator Sr. will assist the leadership in developing and maintaining alumni, academic, business, government, professional and community linkages in furtherance of the School's mission. Salary Range$43,863 - $55,000 per year; DOE Close Date04-April-2022 Essential DutiesAnalyzes and prioritizes School outreach needs for the undergraduate and graduate degree programs.Develops communication campaigns for various stakeholder groups including community members, potential donors, alumni, students, and student organizations, and implements the necessary strategies to address the needs.Acts as liaison with the community and represents the School as directed.Establishes and maintains linkages to professional, community, and business leaders; government representatives; non-profit organizations and academic institutions; and School alumni to further the mission of the School.Assists with the development and implementation of objectives and goals for community outreach and community relations for the School.Assists with strategic planning and with the development and implementation of long and short-term goals and develops goals and objectives based on School goals.Coordinates a resource network that may include working with volunteers, faculty, students and staff to plan and execute messaging, and external and internal events.Performs needs analysis and assessments aimed at identifying opportunities to inform the public and the general community about the School.May lead, provide direction, and train other staff, volunteers and/or student employees.Performs special projects and other duties.Prepares reports on performance of the various communication campaigns including outreach activities and other program activities. Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND five (5) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Desired QualificationsDemonstrated knowledge of the School's unique blend of civic and liberal arts education. Evidence of having a liberal arts background with experience in promoting and executing events and communications. Demonstrated knowledge of and direct experience with liberal arts education at the university or college level. Demonstrated knowledge of other issues pertaining to area of assignment, including public affairs and civic education.Demonstrated knowledge of basic project management.Demonstrated knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.Experience in coordinating and prioritizing work and activities of self and others.Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.Evidence of effective communication.Experience with digital media and platforms. Working EnvironmentActivities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Flexible work optionsAlternative work schedules can include four, 10-hour workdays in a workweek; a nine-day, 80-hour schedule over two workweeks for exempt employees only; and staggered start and stop times.Hybrid work is an arrangement where employees spend a minimum of 60% of their regular workweek at their primary ASU work location. Dean or vice president-level approval is required.
