Job OverviewThe Senior Engineer for Client Technologies Non-Store North America is a role focused on the client devices we deliver our organization.
Most end user devices in Circle K are Windows 10 based laptops, managed by Active Directory and System Center Configuration Manager. We are moving towards co-management with SCCM and Intune, and Intune only soon.
Our goal is to deliver a best-in-class user experience to our users globally, while maintaining our standards and security stance. To achieve this ambition, we are actively standardizing our processes and configuration on a global level, to ensure the same experience in all regions. Collaboration with team members covering our scopes in the other regions is to key to achieve this, which means communication skills with people of various cultures is a must. We currently cover two main regions, North America, and Europe.
Client Device Administration work focuses on installation, configuration, and maintenance of organization devices software & hardware including:

  • Meeting end user needs by ensuring the uptime, performance, resource availability, and security of the environment, within established budgets and operational guidelines.
  • Acquiring, installing, and upgrading management systems hardware & software and planning for/responding to service outages and other problems.
  • Overseeing maintenance of servers in scope and system updates.
  • Automating routine tasks using scripting and writing basic computer programs to address more complex systems software configuration and enhancement.
  • Responsible for training material and curriculum related to standards and use of organization management systems.

    Primary Responsibilities and Activities
    • Management of Operating Systems (Images, Security Patches, Upgrades, Anti-Virus)
    • Design and change management for Active Directory (OUs, GPOs, service accounts, objects, and groups)
    • System Responsible for SCCM (platform management, patching, upgrades, deployments)
    • Management of Intune (platform management, patching, upgrades, deployments (Auto-Pilot))
    • Participate in projects that interfaces with our managed clients.
    • Managing our portfolio of applications in production
    • Coordination of the process of Onboarding new Applications
    • Creating user documentation to other teams in the organization that uses our services.
    • Work closely with the Global Manager of Desktop and Collaboration to ensure the organizations standards and best practices are followed.
    • Plan and manage assigned activities with an emphasis on quality, timeliness, and budget.
    • Ensure incidents are analysed and resolved in a timely manner to minimize downtime to all clients.
    • Provide Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
    • Manage local vendors and servicemaintenance contracts.
    • Actively participate in decisional IT meetings
    • Contribute to the building of IT OPEX and CAPEX budgets. And the subsequent control of those budgets
    • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
    • Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.
    • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
    • Review / approve work plan of external service provider or consultancy contracted to support client management initiatives.

      Knowledge and Skills
      • Significant experience and knowledge of client management
      • Expert knowledge of System Center Configuration Manager configuration and management
      • Expert knowledge in client management though Intune
      • Knowledge of client Security Tools and services
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills; expertise in setting and managing customer expectations.
      • Effective influencing and negotiating skills in an environment in which this role may not directly control resources.
      • Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
      • Knowledge of Apple technology in enterprise environments is a plus

        • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related technical field, or equivalent work experience
        • (8+ years) IT experience in an enterprise-level environment exhibiting demonstrated client management, relationship development, analytical and problem-solving skills, and end-to-end experience with methodologies.
        • (6+ years) minimum experience in technical project management, leading the implementation of highly complex device management systems.
        • Exceptional skills evaluating and resolving complex business issues and facilitating conflict management, issue resolution, and risk mitigation.
        • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple changing and competing priorities.
        • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
        • Demonstrated skills to build a strong network and relationships across IT functions and the business.
        • Microsoft Certifications a plus
