Job Description:

The Claims Supervisor assists with the management of the Claims Department and acts as a liaison between the transportation providers and ModivCare by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Supervise, manage and develop a Claims team to meet operational and contractual goals
* Coach and mentor each team member of the Claims team in order to maximize his/her potential
* Timely completion of each team member's performance review
* Provide a high level of customer service to the Operational offices supported by the Claims team and the Claims office.
* Research issues regarding the processing of transportation claims
* Review the team's work performance to ensure accuracy and efficiency
* Work through the Claims team to handle claims disputes with transportation providers and/or members. This will include dealing directly with the transportation providers and/or members if an issue is escalated
* Oversee the mailing of claims payment checks with the appropriate explanation of payment
* Create, analyze and report on the statistical information regarding the performance of the claims department
* Ensures all Claims office deadlines are met
* Ensure the adherence to all company policies and procedures by each Claims team member
* Develop and improve work processes
* Perform other duties as assigned
* Supervisory Responsibilities

* Directly supervises Claims team (which may include, but not limited to, the following functions: Claims Processor, Claims Processor Lead, Claims Processor QA, and Claims Coordinator).

* This supervisory function must be carried out in accordance with all of ModivCare's policies as well as any applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting in interviewing, hiring, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education

* High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required
* Bachelor's level degree preferable

Skills & Experience

* 3+ years data processing experience preferred
* 2 years demonstrated experience leading and supervising a team
* Experience with healthcare related billings. This should include a working knowledge of HCPCS, ICD-9 and Condition codes
* Knowledge of and proficiency in quality improvement tools and processes
* Demonstrated initiative; and ability to follow instructions and complete assignments in a timely manner
* Proven experience dealing with crisis and ability to create processes that best benefit the entire team
* Model excellent customer service and phone skills
* Strong management and organizational skills
* Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
* Ability to accurately type 35+ corrected words per minute
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
* Ability to read and write English fluently; bi-lingual a plus
