Job Summary:

The Bank Operations and Shared Services Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for the successful execution of sourcing and/or commodity strategies to drive greater efficiency, value, and quality across the organization. In support of this work, this position will be responsible for building sustained value-based relationships with stakeholders and vendors, negotiating commercial contract terms and conditions (including pricing), gathering market data (including benchmarking), reporting/analytics to support the strategic sourcing managers, assisting with execution and reporting for top 35 vendor management program. The primary objective of this position is to efficiently save the Bank money while maintaining an acceptable level of risk and sustaining value-based interdepartmental relationships. Core areas of focus are within HR, Legal, Marketing, Market Data, Corporate Real-Estate and other Bank Operations and Shared Services.

Major Responsibilities:

AVP Procurement Execution:

  • Participate in the end-to-end sourcing process and help facilitate analysis and collaboration of a cross-functional team, leveraging market/industry insights to assist in making strategic recommendations
  • Execute on negotiation strategies & assist in negotiations for complex contracts and vendor relationships
  • Develop negotiation strategies & lead negotiations for moderate complexity contracts
  • Achieve cost savings targets
  • RFx management
  • Contract/Vendor management
  • Execute on commodity/vendor strategy to deliver maximum value

Stakeholder / Supplier Relationship Management & Integration:

  • Build and maintain value-measured relationships with key stakeholders to drive sustained results while ensuring strategies remain in alignment with business goals
  • Understand business partner's objectives and business drivers and integrate into the commodity/vendor strategy with input from key stakeholders
  • Conduct regular business reviews with key vendors to ensure compliance with contract deliverables

Market Research & Analysis

  • Participate in gathering "market intelligence" by performing in-depth analysis, understanding market drivers, and cost structures across the commodity or vendor
  • Maintain industry and market awareness trends through research and networking
  • Assist in creating vendor specific sourcing strategies to optimize the supply base, diversity spending and total cost of ownership

Education, Licensure, Year of Experience (and type of work experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree and typically 5-7 years sourcing/procurement experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Experience with Information Technology (IT) sourcing, contracts and/or vendors preferred
  • Understanding of indirect sourcing and contracts
  • Experience working with and negotiating with vendors
  • Experience in negotiating commercial contract terms and conditions
  • Experience in managing competitive and single source RFX
  • Experience in reporting, analytics and/or aggregation of reporting in supply chain
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Project and Excel
  • Experience in SAP Ariba (or other similar procurement system) and Tableau
  • Business/Financial Acumen
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Skilled in change adoption and change management
  • Ability to work with and learn from strategic sourcing managers and strategic sourcing leadership for further coaching and development of procurement/sourcing skills
