Finance Project Manager

What our BI Team does:

  • Drive discovery, design, and execution of reporting, data services and advanced analytics solutions for internal clients
  • Supports Application Enablement, Set Up, Configuration, Deployment and Life-Cycle Management
  • Work closely with client business and technical stakeholders to shape the success of projects
  • Provide leadership at all stages of the delivery pipeline: estimations, design, management, coding, deployment, and more
  • Collaborate with other BI team, Finance Analysts, Finance Management and IT members to ensure successful delivery and high business impact for our internal clients
  • Present to client, industry, and internal peer groups
  • Aggressively grow your skillset and expertise to meet the emerging needs of the market

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Devotes 90% of time to leading and managing projects and programs. 10% of time to business development.
  • Visible, accountable leader who oversees the successful delivery of Insight projects and programs for Insight clients and helps develop to new opportunities for future business.
  • Work with internal leadership to help drive best practices, standards, and methodology to the regional practices.
  • Ensures the change management process is utilized in order to maintain profitability and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Lead projects relative to milestone completion while managing to resource and financial budgets.
  • Develops and implements complete project schedules to ensure required dates are met.
  • Monitors and maintain client and internal project executive satisfaction by engaging in weekly or monthly status meetings.
  • Participates in and helps author Statements of Work (SOWs), responds to RFPs as necessary.
  • Presents Insight's Project Management and service capabilities to prospective clients.
  • Understanding financial statements
  • Management reporting
  • Variance reporting and analysis
  • Good at documentation
  • Good at validating - knowing how deep to go
  • Other Duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to translate business need into a mathematical model
  • Ability to build models in Excel (more than just A*B=C)
  • Linking sheets and excel files

  • Understand the of moving data across multiple models
  • Used any type of a report writer
  • Understands a planning process (and forecasting)
  • Project management
  • Previously used multi-dimensional solutions such as Essbase, Cognos, TM1, Anaplan, Host Analytics / Planful
  • Understands some scripting (such as used in the above solutions)
  • Experience with any ETL tool

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas

What you'll need to work at Insight:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum four (4) years' experience in various Accounting & Finance functions
  • Minimum two (2) years in a business analysis and requirements definition
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling and analysis or developing
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience developing Operating Plans or Capital Project Budgets with Operational Leaders
  • Certified public accountant ("CPA") designation preferred
