Senior Process Remediation Engineer

Our clients' Arizona location is looking for a Senior Remediation Process Engineer.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the patients we serve and an unrelenting desire to improve our business. The candidate will have a general working knowledge of PWB micro-electronics packaging manufacturing technologies and demonstrate an ability to apply problem solving skills and pragmatic thinking while working in a high paced team oriented environment.

A Day in the Life

The selected candidate will provide hands-on and technical support including process equipment maintenance and calibration, root cause identification, installation, modification, upgrades, programming and qualification of equipment and processes to understand and improve equipment performance and process reliability.

  • The candidate will work with engineering staff to develop programs and execute procedures on a wide variety of PWB manufacturing equipment.
  • Respond in a positive manner to pressures caused by changing priorities.
  • Communicate effectively through written technical reports and verbal interaction.
  • Collaborate in a team environment with other technicians and engineers and lead problem solving activities through the application of DMAIC principles

To be considered for this position, you must meet or exceed at least one of these criteria:

  • Minimum of a B.S. in a relevant Engineering discipline preferably Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Process characterization and optimization using DOE methodology; FMEA experience required
  • Direct experience with SMT pick and place process (KnS / Assembleon equipment preferred)
  • Direct experience with process validation activities (IQ, Process characterization, MSA, Process Qualification)

Nice to Have

  • Fundamental understanding of SMT Minimum of 5 years' experience in microelectronics assembly packaging process
  • Understanding of convection reflow oven operation principle and its application in microelectronic assembly. Understanding of solder reflow-related defects.
  • Develop control methods to ensure measurement accuracy.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems composed of vision systems, PLCs, PC's, and manufacturing data collection system
  • Experience with use of statistical process control and data analysis tools.
  • Experience with IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronics Assemblies Class 1, Class 2, Class 3

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
  • Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
  • Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
