Job Summary:

Provides installation and maintenance of plastic injection molding (PIM) machines and auxiliary equipment. Completes troubleshooting and repair of real property equipment, fixtures, alarm systems and assists with fabrication and installation of support requirements for new and changing projects. Performs typical maintenance tasks to support production and the plant-wide facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installing power supply wiring and conduit such as: EMT, O-CAL, Rigid conduit, MC cable, strut, cable trays
  • Troubleshooting electrical components, wiring diagrams, transformers, motors, panels, and circuits
  • Installation skills would include the basic skills of a journeyman electrician, which would include such items as, 3 phase 480 volt installations to equipment and motors, 120 volt circuit installations, lighting installations and control panel wiring and low voltage.
  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems such as: switch gears, motor controls, electrical panels, CT cabinets, conveyor systems, lighting, and power supplies
  • Maintaining current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations
  • Testing electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
  • Inspecting systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
  • Directing or training workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures
  • Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem

Basic Qualifications:

  • Journeyman/Licensed electrician
  • Education or Equivalent Experience: High School or equivalent
  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of five years maintenance experience in a plant setting.
  • Superior analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience with various instrumentation sensors and transmitters.
  • Willingness to learn computer based maintenance software.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot distribution and control equipment such as switches, relays, circuit breakers and fuse disconnects.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and ability to run conduit
  • Time management and task prioritization are essential
  • Proficient in diagnosing and testing motors and motor control circuits.
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley Drives, Relay Logic, PLCs and Programming is a plus.
  • Must have own basic hand tools
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
  • Able to comply with the company's safety policy at all times
  • Able to comply with the company's quality policy at all times.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Must be able to work assigned shift(s) with overtime as required to complete assignments
  • Sitting and/or standing for extended periods
  • Hearing ability should be sufficient to hear and react to audible alarms from distances up to 150 feet
  • The ability to be able to lift and carry various items up to 50 pounds
