Iridium’s Human Resources team is looking for an HR Coordinator with a growth mindset to join our amazing HR team!  The HR Coordinator will have the opportunity to dig into all aspects of Human Resources and support challenging projects. The ideal candidate must be innovative, resourceful, willing to seek opportunities to improve and be able to work both as a part of a team and autonomously. In this position you will be empowered to contribute to the success of our HR team by supporting essential functions including recruiting, onboarding, recognition programs, employee engagement/relations, and performance management. This position can work from either our Tempe, AZ or McLean, VA offices but must have a willingness to occasionally travel to other offices as needed. This position will have flexibility to work remotely1 to 2 days a week.  

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruitment activities including processing new position requests, updating job descriptions, scheduling interviews, etc.
  • Assist with the job offer and onboarding process including obtaining approvals, collecting and processing pre- and post-employment paperwork, including reference and background checks, and coordinating first day activities
  • Assist with summer internship program activities including reviewing/posting job descriptions, coordinating continuous learning and social events, etc.
  • Assist with the administration of the applicant assessment tool (Predictive Index)
  • Support new employee orientation and onboarding processes
  • Prepare personnel action forms (PAFs) and other documents pertaining to employment
  • Assist with the performance management process, including supporting employee promotion process and administration of the tool (emPerform)
  • Assist in responding to HR policy-related inquiries from employees
  • Draft organizational announcements and other employee communications
  • Administer various recognition programs, including spot awards and company LEO awards
  • Administer charitable contribution match and employee Education Assistance program
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual HR reports Support pulse and annual employee opinion surveys; assist with administration of the tool (CultureAmp)
  • Participate in broader team projects and initiatives, such as, contributing to diversity and inclusion (D&I) and Spirit Team activities, etc.

 Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; the ability to order competing priorities is critical
  • Must be customer service oriented with the ability to listen to needs/inquiries from others and brainstorm to support the team in developing creative solutions
  • Must have an active interest in and enthusiasm for learning, especially in regard to Iridium’s mission and vision and the Human Resources field in general
  • Must have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to collect, research, and input data using a variety of tools

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a Human Resources or Business-related program is required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Interest in Telecommunications industry a plus
