You'll also enjoy a healthy salary, a comprehensive benefits package and have an attractive 401K plan with a company match to help you grow along with us!What we need (in addition to all that stuff above)The Loss Mitigation Specialist monitors and processes accounts that are either delinquent or in danger of becoming delinquent by establishing contact and negotiating with borrowers, investors, and real estate agents in an attempt to resolve at-risk mortgages.Major Tasks and Responsibilities:Handles multiple mortgage products that are delinquent, as governed by investor, departmental, and legal guidelinesKeeps servicing files up-to-date so borrowers can receive the best assistanceMinimizes loss due to foreclosure through the use of loss mitigation options, such as pre-foreclosure sales, loan modifications, and repayment plans.Arranges for contractual services relating to property inspections, appraisers, real estate agents, etc., who may be involved in the inspection or evaluation of the propertyReviews title searches to ensure that no title issues threaten the standing of our investor's lien on the propertyMakes calls to borrowers, borrowers' authorized representatives, and brokersAnalyzes financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, and the value of the collateral in order to determine and recommend the most feasible and appropriate workout to the customerAccurately calculates the borrower's income, through the review of paystubs, tax documents, benefit statements, business profit and loss statements, etc.Addresses any borrower question or concern. Handles escalated files appropriately by providing an articulate and complete responseCertifies that all required actions have taken place prior to foreclosure proceedings beginEnsures compliance with company policies and proceduresCompletes, monitors progress and insures deadlines are met for collection and loss mitigation notices.Reviews tasks daily to ensure they are completed within company timelines.Other duties as assignedStandards of Performance:Communication: communicate clearly to all associates at all levels within the organization, written and verballyProvide Cross-Training to at least one other associate.Seek Feedback: Host regular and timely communication with associatesEloquently deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situationsProfessionally deal with customers, peers and other company employeesEducation or Experience Qualifications: High school diploma or one year certificate from college or technical schoolTwo (2) or more years in customer service/call center related fieldPrior experience in loss mitigation preferredFannie Mae of Freddie Mac loan servicing experience, preferredIntermediate skills in computer operation including word processing, spreadsheet and specialty software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.) programsExperience with LPS/Black Knight/MSP preferredSpecific Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities Required for Position: Good character, motivated, hard workingStrong work ethicFlexibility and ability to adapt to change quicklyStrong problem resolution skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrict adherence to work schedule times and deadlinesMSP Servicing System experience preferredAbility to work well with fellow associates, clients and vendorsGood communication skills.
