Under administrative direction, the Program Director TRIO Veterans Upward Bound is responsible for the management of ASU's TRIO Veterans Upward Bound program, including planning, budgeting, training, supervising, and providing general leadership and vision to staff Job Family Department Name Veterans Upward Bound Tempe Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time VP Code EDUC OUTRCH & STDT SVCS Scope of Search Open Grant Funded Position This is a grant funded position. Continuation is contingent on future grant funding. Salary Range $46,750-$55,000 per year; DOE Close Date 10-May-2021 Category 04 Administers federally-funded TRIO Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) grant programs under the legislation and regulations set forth by the Department of Education and ASU.Develops and administers VUB as part of the TRIO Programs in Educational Outreach and Student Services.Provides support for military Veterans through collaboration and continuity within TRIO Programs.Provides for goal setting and program evaluation and supports data collection for appropriate reports to the designated supervisor.Leverages institutional and community resources and efforts to enhance program participants' experience.Ensures effective and efficient use of personnel and resources in the administration of program activities.Manages, supervises, and provides for orientation and development of program staff.Collaborates in the development and administration of the program budget.Supervises the development and maintenance of academic and tutorial programs that appropriately addresses the needs of program participants.Oversees the design and development of individually-tailored learning modules prepared by Coordinators and instructional staff.Collaborates with VUB and TRIO Programs staff to develop an information system for tracking and maintaining program procedures.Develops the criteria for, coordinates, and approves individuals for the selection process.Works closely with grant writer and/or principal investigator for future VUB grant funding.Participates in National and Regional TRIO and NAVUB leadership opportunities.Corresponds with local and national TRIO programs, colleges, and other universities to support collective efforts for further services to participants.Participates in outreach opportunities to educate community members about TRIO Veterans Upward Bound.Attends professional development opportunities to enhance program success.Serves on University-wide committees that enhance the TRIO student experience.DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, to include some evenings and weekends. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Student Services, Education, or a directly related discipline AND three years progressively responsible experience in related discipline, which includes three years supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved. Desired Qualifications Evidence of a Master's Degree in Higher Education, preferred. Experience with military veterans and/or veteran students (e.g., adult students over the age of 21 who have served in the U.S. armed forces) Demonstrated knowledgewith navigating through the VA system/agencies Experience with TRIO, educational equity organizations and/or similar college preparatory programs Experience with diverse populations particularly those from low-income family backgrounds and first-generation to attend postsecondary institutions Experience teaching or developing curriculum Experience in overcoming barriers similar to those confronting the program's target population Experience with grant writing, preferably federal grants Experience in planning, scheduling, and supervising the work of others Professionally represents department/program Use computers effectively - including inputting, reviewing, and retrieving information Work collaboratively across various departments and campuses within the University Ability to lift 25lbs Department Statement TRIO Programs are federally funded academic support programs designed to motivate, support, anddevelop students to increase post-secondary enrollment and completion.
