Job Description:

Silicon Valley Bank's Global Fund Banking team provides commercial banking services to venture capital and private equity funds globally. The team is responsible for the collection and capture of information on institutions and individuals that represent the financial collateral for the loans we provide. The consultant will provide expertise in using our information system called iLevel and be responsible for the accuracy and timely input of investor information.

Setup and maintenance of new firms, funds and LP relationships in the collateral system.

  • Monitor incoming setup requests. Change the status of requests as steps are completed.
  • Perform fuzzy name matching process on investors
  • Create new entity records and establish relationships in the system
  • Validate and update attributes on entities regularly or as requested
  • Establish commitment amounts for each relationship
  • Perform system transactions to adjust balances as fund activity occurs
  • Create reports for underwriting and credit approval
  • Be the collateral database expert and know of how to fix issues that arise

Capital call reconciliation and shadow accounting of commitments and remaining callable capital in the collateral system

  • Monitor capital call mailboxes for incoming capital call and recallable distribution notices
  • Track receipt of expected capital call notices
  • Reach out to external parties when expected capital call notices are not received
  • Perform the proper transaction type for capital calls
  • Regularly report firms' compliance for sending notices on time and escalate non-compliant firms
  • Annual audit of capital call wires received for certain funds
  • Work with deal teams when reported remaining callable capital does not match what the firm reports

Ensure collateral system data quality and integrity by performing QC checks and regular reviews

  • Perform monthly quality checks to identify data issues
  • Identify root causes of data quality issues and recommend changes to technology or process
  • Promptly fix identified data issues in collateral database

Other data quality and data integrity tasks as assigned


  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with record keeping and transaction applications
  • Strong attention to detail and well organized
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office productions, especially Excel


  • Bachelors degree
  • Understanding of Venture Capital and Private Equity Fund structures
  • Research and due diligence experience
