Job Description - Sr. FP&A Financial Manager (Product)
As a Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis at Silicon Valley
Bank, you will work for the bank of the innovation economy.
You will have the opportunity to partner with business
customers on driving strategic business direction that leads
to long term, sustainable performance and enable innovative
businesses to bring about the next big thing. This role
supports the Product organization and is well suited to a candidate
with Commercial Banking product experience. The ideal candidate
must enjoy working in a fast paced, iterative environment,
generating practical strategic solutions in areas with no or little
precedence and influencing to inspire change and results. The ideal
candidate will assume a high level of ownership, be analytically
minded with a strong focus on detail, and be committed to quality
deliverables. This individual contributor role will play a critical
role in providing financial perspective to the Product leadership
team to inform strategic decisions. Day-to-Day responsibilities
will include (but not be limited to) the following: Owns the
financial planning and actuals reporting for the Product
organization – which includes Cards, FX, Deposits, Cash management,
Trade Finance and other Commercial Bank products.
Lead the development of all financial forecasts for Product
Organization, management reporting month-end close, risks and
opportunities identification and reporting:
Report the historical financial performance and interpret the
results to adjust the forward-looking views
Be the finance business partner to the Product team for the
annual budget and quarterly financial forecasting
Proactively identify and act upon opportunities for financial
reporting, forecasting and deep dive analyses
Business presentations: independently develop and present
financial results to senior audiences, clearly articulate outcomes
of analysis to leadership teams
Become a trusted business partner and advisor to the product
organization and build deep relationships with the Product
Independently manage and prioritize workload across diverse
Collaborating closely with various departments across the
organization to gather data, build and back-test new driver based
product financial models. Related objectives include:
Measure and analyze product profitability, including impact of
product focused investment initiatives and scenario
Operationalize Key Performance Indicators and link to product
Articulate (written and verbally) impact of investments on
product profitability and provide recommendations for an executive
Identify and drive business strategies based on product level
profitability analysis goals
10+ years of experience in finance, including development
and/or direct management of driver based product P & Ls.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required for model development
and executive level output and reporting
Data & Analytics skills and experience to query, aggregate,
validate, and summarize data accurately. Experience with Axiom EPM
a plus and Hyperion Essbase preferred
Ability to complete assigned responsibilities as a team and
engage with business partners with a friendly, service-oriented
Ability to work effectively in a complex work environment,
including interacting well with increasingly senior partners and a
wide variety of groups (financial planning & analysis team,
accounting, and product teams)
Strong organization, written and verbal communication skills
with the ability to influence key stakeholders and speak about
financials in an accessible style
Understanding of financial statements, accounting procedures,
internal and external reporting and variance analysis
Working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word
