Description: ASU, a leading innovator in Higher Education, is
looking for an experienced Senior ETL Developer to support our AWS
Redshift Enterprise Data Warehouse. Our large-scale environment
contains over 90 schemas with 3,000 tables and upwards of 60Tb of
data. We’re looking for a senior technologist with strong hands-on
experience building and optimizing ETL pipelines from enterprise
applications into a data warehouse environment. The ideal candidate
excels in performance tuning, data modeling, and ensuring data
quality across complex systems. This role also includes supporting
daily data loads and participating in on?call rotations as part of
ongoing data warehouse maintenance. ASU’s Enterprise Technology

Salary Range: $105,000 - $115,000 per year; DOE Essential Duties:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines that ingest,
integrate, transform, and apply complex business rules to data from
multiple internal and external sources, delivering trusted data to
the enterprise data warehouse. Ingest high volumes of data from
diverse source systems and access methods (APIs, databases, flat
files, cloud storage, third-party platforms) ensuring reliable and
secure data acquisition. On-call support for ETL operations,
overseeing job orchestration, workflow scheduling, and timely
resolution of pipeline failures across thousands of nightly batch
processes Manage and maintain enterprise ETL platforms and data
warehouse environments, including system administration, patching,
upgrades, conversions, performance tuning, and configuration to
ensure continuous, reliable, and secure operations. Collaborate
with data architects, customers and analysts to support data
modeling, schema design, and dimensional structures for reporting
and analytics. Optimize ETL processes for performance, scalability,
and efficiency, while enforcing data quality, validation, and
reconciliation controls to ensure accurate, complete, and
consistent warehouse data. Deploy code and objects through SDLC
environments including development, QA, and Production along with
partnering with production services to ensure the correct job
scheduling is in place. Develop automation, logging, alerting, and
documentation to improve operational stability, governance, and
maintainability of ETL processes. Participates in team activities
and contributes to discussions, such as production support triage,
incident management, code reviews, architecture reviews, and
technology standards definitions. Leverage AI in routine tasks and
contribute ideas for using AI to improve the unit’s efficiency and
overall performance. Take responsibility for fostering a positive
culture, upholding organizational values, and championing
engagement in all its forms. Collaborate across teams and actively
participate in ET/ASU events and programs. Desired Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience on multiple projects using Data Warehousing
and ETL technologies, with strong knowledge of data warehousing and
business intelligence lifecycle concepts, methodologies, and best
practices. Proficiency in SQL/PL/SQL, including experience with
analytic functions and techniques for tuning large-volume queries.
Familiarity with Python, Unix and cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS,
GCP, Azure) is preferred. Experience in administration of ETL or
middleware tools (e.g., SnapLogic, Matillion, Informatica),
including configuration, patching, upgrades, and maintenance
Kimball methodologies include star schema design and accumulating
and periodic snapshots. Strong understanding of data lakes, data
warehouses, and modern data architecture principles for large-scale
organizations, including metadata management, governance, and
scalable design. Experienced Data Warehouse Developer skilled in
architecting and developing complex data pipelines, scripts, and
data objects, delivering scalable and high?performance solutions
and supporting the team through technical mentorship. Experience
administering security in a relational database in AWS. Experience
troubleshooting common database issues (duplicate keys, inefficient
joins/views, DB performance issues). 5 years of experience applying
Agile software development methodologies, utilizing tools such as
JIRA, Confluence, or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) for project
tracking, collaboration, and delivery. Collaborative team player
with excellent communication and leadership skills. Experience in a
University or Higher Education setting. Demonstrated ability to
model empathy, compassion, and emotional intelligence. Experience

stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to
