Job DescriptionDo you enjoy the challenge of crafting cutting-edge HTML and CSS to ensure effective display on all platforms? Can you leverage the power of the Drupal CMS to meet the needs of students, faculty and staff within a diverse higher education environment?The Website Specialist for Educational Outreach and Student Services is a flexible and creative yet process-oriented individual. In this position, you will work as a member of the EOSS web team, maintaining numerous Drupal websites across our student services and outreach units. You will implement designs and respond to web support tickets. Our web team maintains a custom Drupal distribution, and our support includes everything from troubleshooting and fixing bugs to creating content types and implementing new designs and layouts.This opportunity provides a unique chance to join a highly skilled technical team and experience ASU's vibrant web community from the perspective of an enterprise student services unit. You will interact with a diverse group of marketing, communications and technical team members within EOSS and an extensive network of web professionals across the university in a collaborative and energetic environment.--The role offers an environment for refining one's skills and includes ongoing professional development and learning opportunities.Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-TimeSalary Range: $53,288 - $55,500 per year; DOEClose Date: 09-November-2022Essential Duties

  • Implements responsive front-end layouts with modern HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Creates new web pages and forms.
  • Maintains Drupal websites with core updates and patches.
  • Identifies and troubleshoots issues with web-based applications.
  • Monitors and addresses support requests received through the EOSS Web Request ticketing system.
  • Occasionally develops responsive email marketing templates for use in enterprise communications via Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Works collaboratively with a diverse group of colleagues, creating solutions to solve complex problems.
  • Remains abreast of technology trends within scope of expertise.
  • Plans/tracks projects and communicates with stakeholders via an online project management system. Minimum QualificationsAssociate's degree in Information Technology, Business, Communications or closely related field AND three (3) years web content, graphic design or electronic publishing experience, OR, any equivalent combination of experience, and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.Desired Qualifications
    • Experience with the Drupal CMS, Drupal themes, HTML, CSS.
    • Experience with JavaScript and JS frameworks/libraries (ReactJS, JQuery) Responsive Design, Adobe Creative Cloud and Git version control.
    • Experience building and testing responsive web pages and templates using design assets provided via Adobe CC suite tools.
    • Experience balancing multiple project workloads simultaneously and working effectively with individuals and teams within a diverse environment.
    • Experience in problem solving.
    • Evidence of effective customer service skills
    • Experience in using patience and perseverance.
    • Evidence of effective communication skills.
    • Experience working in a higher education setting.
    • Experience in using creative and critical thinking skills and attention to detail. Working EnvironmentActivities are primarily performed in a regular, climate controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking. Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer; bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds.
