Job Description Job Description GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES The
Physical Therapy Manager is responsible for providing leadership,
managerial supervision, and resource support to improve the
effectiveness of its department. Basic functions include assisting
in planning, organizing and implementing, and managing the physical
therapy services through the supervision of clinic teams and
proactively assisting in developing solutions to positively impact
quality patient care and efficient operations. Utilizing the
principles of continuous quality improvement, the position provides
leadership to constantly improve processes and focuses on improving
outcomes in the Financial, Growth, People, Service, and Quality
Pillars. Additionally, the Manager of Physical Therapy will
function as a practicing Physical Therapist with the duties and
responsibilities delineated on the Physical Therapist job
description. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Implements and enforces written
policies and procedures for all processes involved in the physical
therapy department. Manages the development of short/long-term work
plans and objectives for all rehabilitation. Manages the
implementation of appropriate courses of action to achieve service
goals in conjunction with physicians and administration. Oversight
and management of the process of purchasing supplies for the
clinic. Ensures that employee and patient rights are upheld.
Understands and effectively uses all aspects of the software
system. Assists with selection, training, orientation, and
supervision of personnel, including review of monthly performance
metrics. Leads by example and adheres to AEIOU behavioral standards
and management expectations. Manages the day-to-day staffing
requirements. Responsible for conducting scheduled team/clinic
meetings. Conducts performance management reviews in a timely
fashion. All other duties as assigned. EDUCATION Requires a
master’s degree or doctorate in physical therapy and is certified
as a physical therapist. Current state PT license; PT
certification; CPR certification. EXPERIENCE Minimum of two years
in Physical Therapist experience in an outpatient setting. Minimum
of two years of leadership experience preferred. KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of principles and applications of physical therapy.
Knowledge of business and supervisory concepts and methods
including TQM. SKILLS Skill in effectively participating in
assessment/treatment of patients. Skill in appropriate budgeting,
staffing, scheduling, planning. Skill in quality audits. ABILITIES
Ability to communicate, establish/maintain effective relationships
with patients/families, employees, peers, and administrators, and
problem-solve cooperatively. Ability to effectively educate
patients, employees, and other staff in PT theory and applications.
Ability to operate a cost-effective department by controlling costs
appropriately. ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS Normal clinic
environment. Some travel within the community. PHYSICAL/MENTAL
DEMANDS Requires sitting and standing associated with a physical
therapy clinic environment. Combination of bending, lifting, and
transferring activities. Manual dexterity using a calculator and
