Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Tele Acute Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12H Nights EOW, Nights, First to Float Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Ability to read basic telemetry strips. - Experience with CVA and TIA. - Experience with total joint replacement. - Cerner experience recommended. Description: This position is located on a telemetry unit. The unit has a total of 49 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5. Common diagnoses include CHF, COVID, respiratory issues, GI issues, diabetes, post-cardiac catheterization patients, and total joint replacements. Registered Nurses are required to interpret telemetry strips and document at least once per shift. Charge Nurses and House Supervisors will be present on the unit. Nurse Aides are available with a ratio of 1:10-15. The unit is equipped with BiPap, CPAP, and breathing treatments. Shifts are scheduled for 7 pm to 7 am. Self-scheduling is utilized, but schedules are balanced by management. Weekend requirements involve working 2 weekends during a 4-week schedule. Holiday requirements include working 2 days or eves for the major holidays. Floating may occur to different units if qualified. Scrub color is navy blue. The unit has specific orientation lasting for one shift. A cancellation policy of 4 shifts per contract applies. The charting system used is Cerner.
