One of the leading hospitals in the Tucson area is seeking a Nurse Director of Surgical Services.
This hospital is renowned for its quality and patient care, boasting an "A" safety rating. With over 200 beds, it is accredited in several perioperative service lines and has received The Joint Commission's gold star approval. The Surgical Services Nurse Director will become part of an institution with a strong history, culture, and community reputation.
The Nurse Director of Surgical Services will report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). They will be supported by an OR Nursing Manager and a CPAN PACU Manager, leading a dynamic department with over 60 full-time employees. Additional reports include a Manager of Sterile Processing and a CNOR Nursing Supervisor responsible for outpatient procedures.
This state-of-the-art Perioperative Services Department features 16 operating rooms, 32 PACU beds, and two pain suites. The Surgical Nurse Director will lead a skilled team, recognized for expertise in robotics and minimally invasive procedures, and capable of converting rooms to hybrid suites for cardiovascular procedures.
The Nurse Director will oversee nursing care and staffing, while facilitating collaboration between hospital administration and surgical suite staff, preoperative areas, recovery, and central sterile processing. The role also involves staff development through education and quality improvement initiatives.
