Come join us!The CMT Project Manager will complement our existing successful management, engineering and project management team and assist in managing existing and obtaining new commercial/vertical projects and/or horizontal projects out of our Tempe, Arizona office. The ideal candidate must have at least 10+ years of experience in construction materials testing. This position requires technical competence, a positive attitude, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, engineers and coworkers. Experience with project management is required. A BS from an accredited college/university is highly desirable with a major in construction/civil/geotechnical engineering but not required. Professional Registration (P.E.) in the State of Arizona is a plus. Excellent communication skills and strong business knowledge are required for success and advancements. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: --- Perform over-site of and manage technical, budgetary and staffing requirements for construction testing services on multiple construction projects at one time. --- Assist in preparation of proposals for new work, review and submit client invoices consistent with contract documents, review and submit daily inspection reports to client. --- Provide technical support, consulting and supervision to field technicians working on projects that are managed. --- Respond to client and contractor phone calls, answers technical questions, respond to inspection requests, over-see laboratory tests and results and transmit to clients. --- Perform construction site visits as needed to address technical issues, resolve quality issues in the field, and troubleshoot issues as they arise. --- Notify engineer or Senior Manager of discrepancies/deviations promptly. --- Ensure that field personnel understand project details, are performing required inspections and tests, preparing adequate reports in a timely manner and are working in a safe manner. --- Maintain contact with existing Clients to ensure their expectations are being met and that we continue to provide quality services on each project. --- Develop relationships with new potential Clients to maintain a steady backlog of work and increase the existing Client base. --- Read and understand construction plans and specifications --- Communicate effectively with ATLAS engineering staff and contractors --- Follow Company directives and standards --- Perform field-testing and inspection of construction materials and activities and accurately record test results and daily filed observations. --- Perform all job functions within Company safety guidelines --- Assist other departments as necessary.Minimum Requirements: --- Minimum 5 years progressive experience performing construction materials testing and inspection (concrete, asphalt, soils, steel, roofing, etc.). --- Possess a wide range of project experience at large, full time projects and smaller construction project sites primarily located throughout Arizona. --- Possess a wide range of industry certifications for concrete, soils, asphalt at a minimum (ACI, NICET, INDOT, ICC). --- High school diploma or equivalent --- Ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions --- Reasoning, mathematical and language skills (read, write and speak acceptable business English) --- Strong interpersonal skills --- Physical strength, stamina and dexterity to lift and move 50 lbs, stop, bend and stand throughout the course of up to a 12-hour work day in varying weather conditions in varying terrain --- Valid Driver's license --- Ability to travel as necessary for job related duties --- Nuclear gauge certification preferred --- Ability to pass criminal background checksTechnical Requirements:

  • Must be safety conscious and able to comply with Atlas' rigorous safety standards
  • Should be highly organized, possess good written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Able to respond to client requests for information and schedule personnel to meet the needs of the project
  • Must be familiar with laboratory testing methods and procedures.
  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications and prepare and submit daily inspection reports on computer
  • Must have basic computer skills and be able to use basic Microsoft programs such as WORD, EXCEL and Outlook
