The Executive Project Manager is a managerial role for the commercial construction projects based out of the Phoenix/Tempe office. The role will focus on job oversight and guidance of the project management team, customer relations, workload forecasting and day to day project management of high-profile or fast track projects. The role will collaborate with estimating and sales when required and work with the other segments of the DBM Vircon suite of services.Key Responsibilities:Reporting to the Business Manager - Phoenix, your main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Develop project management strategy and execution plans for high-profile or fast track projects. Be the designated Project Manager on these projects with assistance from Phoenix/Tempe PM team when required.
  • Day-to-day management of project managers in the Phoenix/Tempe Office.
  • Build a high performing project management team by developing all employees to fullest potential and establish career progression opportunities within division and/or organization.
  • Conduct performance reviews to ensure team is operating efficiently and achieving performance objectives/goals.
  • Ensure that the entire PM team is capable of and executing the identification and appropriate financial recovery of all scope/design changes on the projects they are managing.
  • Assist PMs worldwide by providing on-site support at meetings for North American projects on an as-needed basis.
  • Collaborate with Business Manager and General Manager to develop and implement effective growth strategies and processes.
  • Create a safe and positive work environment by continuously communicating and resolving issues.
  • Establish clear metrics and benchmarks for measuring progress and maintaining focus on division priorities. Ensure project progress and deliverables are effectively communicated with internal and external stakeholders.The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed in this job.     • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
    • 10 years of related experience in lead roles within a detailing office, for example, Project Coordinator, Lead Modeler / Checker, etc.
    • Certificate or Diploma in Structural Steel detailing/drafting course (or similar);
    • Completion of training or a certificate in 3D modelling software, for example Tekla, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Rhino, etc.;
