And we work diligently to encourage all with difference ways of thinking, different ways of working, and especially those traditionally underrepresented in technology, to apply.About this Role:The IT Principal Project Manager is a member of the Technology Operations PMO and is responsible for driving and delivering assigned projects, maintaining project plans, reporting progress and expediting completion throughout the project life cycle. Primary responsibilities will include delivering and managing a project based on scope/schedule and budget, managing stakeholders, and having crisp and clear communication plans and project plans. The project manager works alongside product managers and scrum leads to groom project backlogs and prepare project plans to assure our Pods are productive. The project manager will also work closely with other project managers and project coordinators to manage cross functional expectations and priorities. The project manager will also be responsible for tracking and reporting project information to executive leadership which will include project financials, resource allocations, project risks, project milestones and change readiness. The Project Manager may be assigned to traditional project teams working on strategic initiatives, cross functional initiatives, OKR delivery projects or to Agile pods to lead their project management activities. The specific job description for this role will include the following:Lead and manage highly complex projects within SVBResponsible for scoping, planning, executing, resourcing, and monitoring assigned project(s) to keep on schedule and on budget.Monitor projects on an ongoing basis, evaluating progress and quality, managing issue resolution process, and taking corrective action as necessaryDevelop strong partnership with the Technology Operation leads to ensure successful delivery of project(s)Demonstrate strong communication skills with all levels of stakeholders, including executives. Able to prepare/present to senior level executives with appropriate level of information/duration.Effectively manage the project to scope/schedule/budget and challenge respective stakeholders as neededManage the relationship between technology and the business at the project levelAnalyze project risks, issues, costs, and benefits and make relevant recommendations to business and IT leadership. Provide and implement action plans to mitigate risk when applicableDevelop detailed project plans to manage the end-to-end project activities, interdependencies, and execution approachDefine purpose, clear roles, tasks, milestones, budgets, and measures of successManage financial delivery and issue management processes, escalating issues and variances to budgets where necessaryPlan and maintain project financial data monthlyBuild and foster a collaborative working environment amongst project team membersWorking knowledge of audit and regulatory practices; ensures projects they lead are 100% compliant with SVB standardsManage multiple integrated complex enterprise projects simultaneously with no supervisionSet priorities under conditions of limited resources and competing demands; considers contingencies for the unexpected when planning long term work initiativesDrive creative, innovative ways to deliver complex projectsAble to drive multiple intersecting projects through to successBuild credibility, establish rapport, and maintain communication with stakeholders at multiple levels, including those external to the organizationDelivery expectations are as listed below:Project CharterManaging the financial worksheet& timesheet reportsDetailed Project PlanRisks/Issues/Assumptions/Decision LogCommunication PlanStakeholder Management PlanChange Readiness Review PresentationsStage-gate DocumentationRisk, Compliance, Legal validationDeployment planLessons learned - 2021 SVB Financial Group.
