Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Director to join our Insurance Operations team in our Tempe office.Oscar is a technology-driven, consumer-focused health insurance startup founded in 2012 and headquartered in New York City. Our goal is to make health insurance simple, transparent, and human. We need your help to do so.About the role:As a Director in our Insurance Operations team, you will build Oscar's enrollment and billing processes. You will set the strategy for enrollment and billing functions, and design processes that improve Oscar's capabilities in serving members and providers. You and your team will do this by working across both Insurance Operations and across the organization to take your ideas from vision to implementation.You will report to the Senior Director. Insurance Operations.Responsibilities:

  • Lead a motivated team of managers and their reports
  • Provide structure and support for your team, allowing them to keep their focus on delivering essential plans
  • Partner with operations, product, technical and market partners to achieve the next generation of health insurance operations
  • Become a trusted partner to our Insurance organization and sales partners, allowing delivery of growth and expansion targets
  • Develop foundational processes for our scaling eligibility & billing operations and summarize the complexity of our data and operations into clear explanations
  • Lead team to surface data, process, and technology issues through identification, measurement, and monitoring of our operations; partner to develop end-to-end strategy that uses these insights to grow
  • Manage team vision including quarterly vital setting and multi-year roadmap
  • Support your team and leadership by guiding decisions and implementation on an ongoing basisRequirements:
    • A bachelor's degree or 4 years of operating experience
    • 8+ years of work in operations, health insurance, data analysis and/or consulting
    • 5+ years of experience building, coaching and developing operational teams
    • Experience with enrollment, eligibility and billing processes
    • Experience developing project plans coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
    • Experience designing and improving workflows as well as standing up accompanying operating and technical procedures
    • Strong analytical decision making and organizational skills.
    • Expert in Excel/Google SheetsBonus points:
      • Process Improvement or Lean Six Sigma training
      • Proficient+ in SQL
