Job Summary: The Director of Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) for the Americas plays the lead role in the Bank's efforts to fully integrate, leverage, and optimize inclusion and diversity throughout the organization. Drawing upon prior experience and expertise, the incumbent will work closely with the Executive Inclusion & Diversity Council to create and successfully implement the I&D strategy to achieve ambitious business goals and objectives. This visible leader supports the Executive I&D Council and is the link between the bank's Enterprise Resource Groups (ERGs) and Business Unit I&D Councils (BUIDCs) and will also be an active and visible leader externally with key community organizations, strategic alliances, professional industry associations, and various regulators. The incumbent will also lead and manage a small team of I&D practitioners engaged in driving the implementation and management of a wide range of strategic programs and initiatives, as well as data/information tracking, analysis, and reporting to key stakeholders and executive leadership. To most effectively drive and execute the I&D strategy, the Director of I&D must effectively partner and collaborate with several HR Centers of Excellence including HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development & Learning, Total Rewards and HR Shared Systems. Major Responsibilities: Key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead, develop, and inspire the Corporate I&D team, including timely performance feedback and Individual Development Plans.
  • Draw upon best practices to support the development and implementation of policies and programs to attract, develop, and retain a highly talented and diverse workforce.
  • Establish, analyze, build consensus, and align management and staff around I&D metrics; leverage partners to create and provide regular and consistent reporting on I&D progress against established benchmarks and best practices.
  • Lead efforts to institutionalize I&D programs and initiatives.
  • Provide oversight, coordination and leadership to the Enterprise Resource Groups (ERGs) and Line of Business I&D Councils.
  • Actively participate in the Executive I&D Council to:
  • Support the "buy-in" and engagement process (e.g., nemawashi) to ensure effective execution of the I&D strategic plan
  • Embed I&D in management practices across the organization
  • Ensure the council's effectiveness as a change agent and "go to" source for expertise and leadership
  • Collaborate across Human Resources, in particular with HR Business Partners, to ensure that policies, practices, and programs are aligned with enterprise I&D goals and successfully executed in the business units.
  • Develop and continuously enhance all I&D training and development curriculum; deliver I&D training & development to bank colleagues at all levels, as appropriate
  • Lead the process to fully integrate I&D concepts, tools, and goals in management practices across the Bank.
  • Implement measures to effectively and accurately assess progress in implementing and executing the I&D strategic plan.
  • Develop, maintain, and fully leverage effective relationships with key external stakeholders and industry groups.
  • Collaborate with global Bank leaders to help create and execute the global I&D strategy and action plan.
  • Provide quarterly progress reports to Human Resources Leadership Team and Executive Committee for the Americas.
  • Provide semi-annual progress reports to the Human Capital Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Develop and manage the annual I&D budget. Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 10 years combination of business, Human Resources, and I&D leadership experience.
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
    • Demonstrated track record of accomplishment in I&D leadership and career progression.
    • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship skills.
    • Experience working in a large global organization.
