Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities
What We're Looking For:Iridium is seeking a Senior Manager of
Network Operations Engineering who is looking to take an exciting
next step in their Engineering career. The Senior Manager of
Network Operations Engineering will be responsible for managing
multiple activities and projects, including those with
cross-functional teams, to support, maintain, and enhance existing
Iridium Gateway core and non-core telecom architecture and service
sub-systems. In this position, you will play a key role in the
design, testing, deployment and second level support of new systems
and applications in response to Iridium business and marketing
requirements. If you are enthusiastic about the possibility of

to get to know you. What You'll Do:Foster and develop a highly
effective team of Engineers, where accountability and clear
communication is demonstrated dailyMentor and train your team by
performing regular check-ins, discussing career growth
opportunities, giving constructive feedback, and managing conflict
when necessary Collaborate with project managers, project subject
matter experts, project business developers, and others, as
necessaryActively engage in new product designs or product
modifications, review documentation and provide feedback to ensure
deliverables meet operational requirementsOversee the introduction
of new products and/or new networks elements in terms of
documentation, operation training material, deployment requirements
and planning with the responsible parties/vendorsWork closely with
the Operations team to readily identify and resolve operations
issues, improve maintenance procedures, add automated recovery
methods where possibleand improve troubleshooting processesBe
responsible for managing operational issues, from detection to
resolution to deployment, with responsible parties/vendorsManage
Operations, Administration & Management (OAM) support contracts
with vendorsParticipate in the administration and maintenance of
the remote monitoring and management system, including updating
agent scripts, responding to alerts, , and performing periodic
system performance assurance reviewsServe as an escalation point
for supporting, investigating, and resolving tier 2 customer
ticketsCommunicate with customers as required; especially as it
relates to incident progress and providing notifications of
impending changes and/or agreed outages, etc.Create and maintain
maintenance documents for all Gateway network element systems and
network infrastructureWork closely with the Independent
Verification & Validation (IV&V) team to ensure products have
been tested thoroughlyDelegate and distribute as appropriate any
tasks and responsibilities to team members
