The Tempe Tourism Office, a 501(c) 6 organization, is seeking
candidates for the position of Creative Services Manager. Our
mission is to promote the City of Tempe, Arizona, as a desirable
meeting and leisure destination. The organization consists of 12
total staff members and 21 board members and is funded primarily
through city and county hotel tax revenue. We employ several
marketing tactics including tradeshows, advertising, social media
and public relations efforts to reach our target markets.The Tempe

ExemptPosition OverviewThe Creative Services Manager is responsible
for visual content development through delivery for use across all
platforms. Content includes, but is not limited to, video,
photography, written copy and graphic design. The Creative Services
Manager works closely with the Director of Communications, Director
of Marketing and Social Media + Content Manager to determine
organizational objectives, production timelines and creative
strategy of each project.Job ResponsibilitiesSuccessful applicants
will be able to perform the following functions with minimal
supervision:Photography/Videography:
- Plan and execute photo/video shoots in accordance with
organizations needs seasonal campaigns, advertising, content
calendar, third-party media, website, presentations, etc.
- Document Tempes events, locations, attractions, restaurants,
people, and landscapes by photo and video
- Utilize software for post-production editing in including color
correction, lighting, etc.
- Upload, save and organize assets within deadline for future use
by staff
- Source locations and talent/models for photo and video shoots
as needed; manage contracts, invoicing, payments, usage rights and
expiration dates
- Create and maintain visual content for distribution across all
channels and platforms, including seasonal campaigns, advertising
placements, media requests and visitor guide
- Use best practices and video storytelling trends as guidelines
for creating short-form videos for website, YouTube, Vimeo,
pre-roll ads and social media teasers
- Manage and expand on existing digital asset management platform
(CrowdRiff), including refreshed assets, ongoing maintenance and
third-party request fulfillmentGraphic Design
- Develop, create and revise ads, graphics and other collateral
for in-house team and a variety of third parties, including specs
for both print and digital placements
- Utilize creative solutions for relaying data in presentations,
reports and other collateral
- Create and/or manage projects that make use of the Tempe
Tourism Office logo and materials (sales materials, promotional
items, sponsored event signage, signage, brochures, etc.)Creative
Services
- Manage third-party vendor relationships, which may include
freelance photographers/videographers, publishers, printersandother
promotional companies; ensure deadline compliance
- Assist with ongoing updates to the Tempe Tourism Office
website, including visual asset refreshes and blog writing and
editing, based on seasonality and evolving needs
- Create and coordinate special projects, including reports,
presentations, infographics, etc.
- Maintain Tempe Tourism Offices branding and style guide
throughout all department and staff uses
- Other duties as assignedExperience & Expectations
- Experience with inspirational storytelling, including the
important role of diversity, equity and inclusion
- Proactively attend a variety of events, and be motivated to
interact with clients, business owners, attendees, general public
and community stakeholders as a professional representative of the
Tempe Tourism Office
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office, project management
(Asana), Canva and digital asset management platforms
- Experience managing third-party vendors and talent/media
contracts
- Ability to work cohesively with all departments in order to
meet their respective needs and deadlines
- Ability to accept constructive criticism and work effectively
under pressure
- Flexibility in work week hours to include some weekends and
evenings
- Establishing and maintaining effective and positive working
relationships
- Operate acomputer (MAC) with desktop publishing, graphics,
spreadsheet and word processing softwareRequired Education & Skills
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field from an accredited college
or university
- 6+ years of graphic design, photography and short-form video
production
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent video editing
software
- Graphic design experience with expertise inAdobeCreativeSuite
programs (InDesign,Photoshop, Illustrator, AdobeAfter Effectsand
Lightroom)
- Working knowledge of Canon mirrorless camera and accessories
(flash, lighting, stabilizer, mic, etc.)
- Ability to demonstrate strong written, verbal and digital
communication skillsAdditional Duties
- Assist with Visitor Center Operations as needed (i.e.,
answering phones and opening/closing of office)
- Ability to assist visitors with questions, information,
directions
- Develop a strong knowledge of Tempe
- Other duties as assignedWork Environment
- This position operates in a professional office environment

- Some out-of-town travel is expected
- Use of personal vehicle for normal course of business and
hosting clients is expected
- Work on weekends is required on an as-needed basis during
familiarization tours, photo and video shoots, educational
conferences and trade shows
- A valid Arizona drivers license and reliable transportation are
requiredPhysical Demands
- This is a sedentary and active role. Some lifting or moving of
boxes (up to 20 pounds) and bending or standing for along period of
time and use of a step stool/ladder may be required
- The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative in finding new
vantage points for photography/videography throughout Tempe, which
may include hiking, climbing, boating, sunrise, sunset, etc.Salary
and Benefits
- Range: $63,000.00 $66,000.00
