Description: The Center for Evolution and Medicine in The College
of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University seeks a
Program Manager to support the operational, programmatic, and
administrative functions of the Center. The Program Manager
provides administrative support to the Center Director and
affiliated faculty, faculty research program logistics, coordinates
events, meetings, and seminars, and serves as a liaison between the
Center, college, and university units. This position requires
strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability
to manage multiple priorities in an exciting, interdisciplinary
research environment. About the Center The Center for Evolution and
Medicine advances research and education at the intersection of
evolutionary biology and human health. The Center supports
interdisciplinary collaboration among faculty, students, and
external partners to better understand the evolutionary foundations
of disease and health. Through collaborative research initiatives,
public programming, and academic events, the Center promotes
innovative scholarship and engagement in evolutionary medicine at
ASU and beyond Position Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000; DOE
Essential Duties: Provides administrative support to the Center
Director, including complex calendar management, travel
arrangements, and meeting coordination. Coordinates day-to-day
administrative operations of the Center. Serves as a liaison
between the Center and academic units of the affiliated faculty.
Coordinates logistics for the Center’s seminar series, workshops,
conferences, and other academic events. Assists with financial and
operational processes for Center activities in coordination with
The College and academic unit business staff, including purchasing,
reimbursements, travel expenses, expense tracking, shipping and
receiving. Maintains and reconciles Center accounts (including
local, state, and ASU Foundation accounts), overseeing the status
of these accounts in the ASU accounting system, and providing
regular reports of these accounts. Supports faculty affiliates with
general logistical and administrative needs related to Center and
research lab activities. May include equipment inventories,
facility/equipment maintenance requests, and hiring student lab
support. In coordination with academic units, may assist faculty
with monitoring grant expenditures and compliance with ASU and
federal policies and guidelines. Supports special projects and
strategic initiatives as assigned. Desired Qualifications:
Experience working in a university or research center environment.
Demonstrated experience supporting senior leadership or
administrators. Experience coordinating academic events, lecture
series, or conferences. Experience with university financial and
purchasing systems. Evidence of effective organizational and
project management skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple
priorities and meet deadlines. Evidence of effective written and
verbal communication skills. Experience working collaboratively
with faculty, staff, and external partners. Working Environment:
Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled
office setting. Frequent use of a computer and standard office
equipment. Monday - Friday work schedule during normal business
hours. This is an in-person position based on the Tempe campus,
though partial remote work arrangements are a possibility after the
probationary period. May require occasional evening or event-based
work. Working both independently and within a complex structured
team. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate to perform

The Center brings leading scientists to ASU to join existing
faculty in research that demonstrates the power of evolutionary
biology to address problems in medicine and public health. The new
courses and degrees they create will begin to meet the growing
demand for such experiences and will educate a generation of future
researchers and health professionals. Many of these experiences
will be at ASU, and some will be in conjunction with the new Mayo
medical school, but others will be available online, open access
worldwide, providing the authoritative content that has long been
needed to bridge the gap between evolutionary biology and medicine.
