Job Description
The Department of Animal Care and Technologies (DACT) is looking
for a Coordinator to work directly under the Coordinator Sr. The
position will aid in the planning, organization, and coordination
of business operations functions in accordance with established
goals, priorities, time constraints, and funding constraints, as
well as other specifications. Basic budgeting, accounting, data
management, and other functions designated by the unit
administrator are among these. This position is designed to cover a
wide range of duties, including administration, with a focus on
financial operations. The ideal candidate will be a self starter
with an efficient work methodology, excellent communication skills,
productive work qualities, the ability to coordinate multiple tasks
autonomously, and sound decision-making abilities.

Essential Duties
Generates journal entries, payment vouchers, and purchase
orders.
Generates end-of-month financial statement for the department
director's approval and review.
Reconciles departmental expenses and revenues to the general
ledger.
Serves as a liaison with the university procurement department and
assists in coordinating departmental purchasing activities.
Assists with managing departmental Purchasing Card program and
reconciles all purchases to statements.
Verifies billing statements and prepares for authorization; checks
for completeness and compliance.
Gathers backup documentation, completes data entry, obtains
approvals, and submits payment documents for all submitted
reimbursement requests and invoices using a computer-based
program.
Places orders via web-based systems, phone, and email to on-campus
and off-campus vendors.
Reviews reports for errors or inconsistencies; investigates and
corrects problems.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment
AND three (3) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent
combination of education and/or experience from which comparable
knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in accounts payable processing
Experience in large volume payment processing and resolving
problems with customers/vendors.
Experience in maintaining, balancing, and reconciling accounting
and financial records.
Evidence of effective communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping practices and
principles.
Experience in preparing detailed reports on a timely basis.
Experience with Workday, SharePoint, and Dropbox.
Experience with the Microsoft Office Software Suite (Word, Excel,
Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote), as well as utilizing web resources
to retrieve or send information to other entities in a variety of
formats.
Working Environment
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office
setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and
manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying
lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25
pounds
Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities
which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions
