Job Description
Facilities Management, Zero Waste, is looking for an experienced
storyteller and content creator who is passionate about the impact
behaviors can make on zero waste lifestyles and the circular
economy.
In this role, you will strategize and execute meaningful ways to
tell and share stories that inspire and educate students and
employees about the benefits and power of zero waste choices on
campus.
This will include content creation and development through multiple
media such as written narrative, audio, and visual storytelling.
Success will require close collaboration across Business and
Finance Communications, the Marketing Hub, Sustainability
Practices, and Student Affairs teams to ensure content look, feel,
messaging, and branding are consistent and align with ASU's quality
standards.
The ideal candidate is comfortable with leading and managing the
end-to-end development and production process as well as working
collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with internal teams
that are dedicated to and focused on excellence in every
detail.

Essential Duties
Create and develop campaigns (i.e., stories) that inspire and share
what's possible with individual choices in ASU environments that
increase waste reduction, diversion, recirculation, and reuse.
Manage the entire creative process from concept to completion,
including launches, timelines, budgets, and student employees.
Produce and direct photoshoots and video production from concept to
final posting that support direct and indirect enterprise marketing
programs.
Manage and produce digital media content for multiple platforms,
including web, social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok
and YouTube), signage and presentations.
Establish and maintain project production schedules to ensure a
smooth end-to-end development plan that meets project goals and
quality bar.
Provide artistic, product, and technical direction for
deliverables.
Collaborate closely with Business and Finance Communications, the
Marketing Hub, Sustainability Practices and Student Affairs
partners to shape internal sustainability messaging and maintain
ASU brand alignment and copy style.
Work with internal enterprise teams to ensure consistency in
storytelling and strategic approach.
Manage external department partners while providing a collaborative
environment that inspires innovation.
Bring fresh thinking and ideas, and quickly and reliably develop,
produce, and bring those ideas to fruition.
Develop reports and other communication related to institutional
metrics.
Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with
students, staff, and faculty.
Assist Zero Waste operations as needed, which may include: loading
and unloading trucks and handling a variety of recyclable
materials.
DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 7:00AM-4:00PM
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND
two years administrative/coordinator program experience; OR, Six
years of progressively responsible administrative/coordinator
program experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience
and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and
abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
Degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related
field.
Demonstrated Experience:
In the field of journalism, copywriter, editorial, or art
director.
As a creative digital storyteller working collaboratively with a
team in a fast-paced content production environment.
Working with worldwide teams for storytelling and production.
Professional working knowledge of digital media, videography,
motion graphics, photography, editing, scriptwriting, and
storyboarding.
Excellent project management, communication, and presentation
skills with a strong eye for attention to detail.
Developing and producing creative content with Adobe Creative
Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Drive Apps.
Customer Service.
Knowledge of:
Origination of innovative storytelling, including experience
leading photography, audio, and video/film productions.
Social media marketing trends is a plus.
Skilled in leading cross-functional internal teams toward a common
goal in a constantly changing environment.
Ability to:
Collaborate cross-functionally as well as the capacity to develop a
story independently.
Distill complex concepts into comprehensive and compelling content
that connects with the intended audience across multiple media and
platforms.
Problem solving and decision-making.
Working Environment
Some work activities are performed in an environmentally controlled
office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding
and manipulating a computer mouse. Required to stand/sit for
varying lengths of time and travel moderate distances to perform
work. Regular use of standard office equipment and associated
computer/technology peripherals. Work activities may also require
regular exposure to external environmental conditions including
heat, cold, dust, wind, insects, flora and fauna indigenous to a
desert climate. Extended periods of walking, stooping, bending,
reaching, and kneeling. Lifting, pushing, and/or carrying objects
of varying weights up to 25 pounds. May operate forklifts and
compactors. Drive University vehicles and/or carts.
