Job Description Job Description/Summary: The Financial Aid
Advisor supports the Director of Financial Aid and the Financial
Aid Advisor by demonstrating initiative and competence contributing
to the dissemination of financial aid information to prospective
and current students and alumni. Works autonomously after given
direction in a variety of tasks and duties to ensure accuracy of
application processing for financial aid. The Financial Aid Advisor
supports the following: Perform a variety of duties in support of
the Financial Aid Office including office/clerical filing,
answering calls, emails and walk in appointments. Counsel and
advise students about financial aid eligibility, application
procedures, aid programs, costs, billing process, indebtedness,
money management and financial planning. Determine student
eligibility for Title IV aid. Prepare student award packages.
Counsel with students to discuss financial aid related issues.
Interpret and implement Federal Methodology, verification
requirements and College policies as they relate to providing
financial aid counseling and eligibility. Calculate return of Title
IV aid for federal and institutional aid, in accordance with
federal and institutional regulations/policies. Communicate with
Business Office staff of changes in financial aid awards. Actively
participate in conferences, workshops, and training to maintain
current knowledge and compliance requirements for Title IV federal
aid programs. Perform other financial aid duties that contribute to
the recruitment and retention of students. Other duties as
assigned. Experience Required: General office management experience
(phones, filing, calendar, administrative duties) Clerical and
customer service experience within student services Using Microsoft
office suite, multiple calendar management Education Requirements:
Minimum Education /Certifications High School Diploma/GED Desired
Education /Certifications Bachelor---s Degree Any combination of
education, training, and experience that provides the required
knowledge and abilities. Working Environment Activities are
performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject
to extensive periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a
computer mouse. Required to stand for varying lengths of time and
walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending,
reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling of up to 25 pounds. Regular
activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may
include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Communicate
to perform essential functions. Background/Screening: All
candidates offered a position at SCNM undergo a background and drug
screen prior to hire. All employees must show documentation of
vaccination against Covid-19, and provide titer results for measles
prior to first day of work (unless religious or medical exemption
