About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Analytics Consultant to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of processes to generate, analyze, and escalate regulatory compliance risk metrics, including key risk indicators (KRIs) and key performance indicators (KPIs). Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.comThis position is in the Compliance Metrics Analytics Team (CMAT) in Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB). CMAT is responsible for developing domestic and global data analytics initiatives for CIB Compliance programs and CIB lines of business, including Asset-Backed Finance, Capital Markets, Fixed Income/ Equities Sales and Trading. In this role, you will:

  • Perform default, loss, and prepayment forecasting on credit sensitive positions within the Analytics Portfolio
  • Participate in company stress testing and capital planning efforts surrounding the securities portfolio and Treasury mortgage portfolio
  • Advise line of business, companywide functions, and more experienced leadership on business strategies based on research of performance metrics, trends in population distributions, predictive scenario modeling, and other complex data to maximize profits and asset growth, and minimize operating losses within risk and other operating standards
  • Interpret and translate regulatory defined stress test scenarios into model parameters, evaluate results of stress test results, and interpretation of model output
  • Provide leadership in the identification and development of new research concepts and designs
  • Ensure adherence to compliance and legal regulations and policies on all projects managed
  • Provide updates on project logs, monthly budget forecasts, monthly newsletters, and operations reviews
  • Assist managers and leaders in building quarterly and annual plans and forecast future market research needs for business partners supported
  • Mentor or manage less experienced staff, interns, and external contractors
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and more experienced managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

    • 5+ years of Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, educationDesired Qualifications:
      • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
      • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
      • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
      • Understanding of the securities industry (investment banking, financial markets, Broker-Dealer, Swap Dealer, Futures Commission Merchant, asset-backed finance, and securitization)
      • Understanding of Compliance program infrastructure including Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Policy and Procedures, Major Requirements, and risk rating schemes, working with Regulatory Proponents
      • Ability to collaborate with Compliance program owners, business and support partners, and other teammates to solve business problems
      • Knowledge of financial and securities products
      • Knowledge of generating, analyzing, and escalating KRIs and KPIs to drive process enhancements and strategic decision making
      • Experience with and proficiency in data analytics, metrics analytics, business intelligence, and data visualization (including tools such as Tableau, QlikView, Microsoft BI, SQL, and/or VBA)Job Expectations:
