Sr. Accountant - Financial Systems needed for a Contract to Hire in Tempe, AZ!

The ideal candidate will be an accounting professional who enjoys providing value to the company through the technology side of accounting verses actual accounting tasks such as journal entries, BS reconciliations, monthly closes, etc. The accounting and finance teams are your internal customers and you will enjoy providing outstanding customer services through the following tasks. This person is part of the global team and must always consider global impact in all we do.

Specifically, you enjoy or have the ability to:
--- Perform system admin functions and the ability to troubleshoot issues in order to help teammates
or point them to the correct team if needed and follow up until resolved
--- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles - Accounting 101
--- Ability to leverage other's talents to get things done (IT, BI, BOT, other teams)
--- Willingness to enforce controls across all business levels including C-level
--- An intense desire to understand and satisfy curiosities for areas assigned
--- A change agent that employs different approaches to get desired results
--- Not only understand the importance of documentation, training and communication of processes
but is the person who puts this into practice
--- Enjoys working with data as well as people
--- Ability to do lite project management such as follow up and scheduling of key meetings to move
change forward
--- Enjoys and thrives working with a team as well as the go to person to get things done - enabling but
not necessarily the doer
--- Utilize critical thinking technics to bring dynamic problem solution in support of global finance team

Responsibilities:
--- System administrator for systems assigned
--- Responsible for ensuring systems assigned are always current - patches etc.
--- Guide finance team in creating change requests (CR) documents for submission to the Business
analyst (BA) team
--- Create and maintain Winshuttle scripts or similar applications
--- Ensure all documentation is current and develop training documents to ensure self-help
empowerment
--- Challenge the status quo and work in cross functional environment
--- Lite project management to ensure projects are moving forward
--- Participate in Financial system or master data audit as assigned
--- Maintain SAP access business roles in GRC system
--- Key Business Process testing for IT deployment of CRs, updates, and projects
--- Become part of the "go to" team for financial systems and process improvement
--- Engage and consider impact to all global teams in any change of process, controls, and system
implementation

To be successful in this position you will need the following skills
--- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business administration or similar
--- 2-3 years of experience with SAP from an accounting perspective either directly as an end user or
support of end users
--- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles preferably through direct experience in an
accounting role
--- Configuration experience with applications such as Winshuttle, Flogast, Blackline, SAP RAR, Workday
(B&P module) etc.
--- System admin experience for business applications
--- Experience using critical thinking technics to interpret controls as applicable to data, change, and
system admin functions
--- Ability to communicate the reason for and enforce controls across all business levels
--- Capability and openness to review processes owned by others and suggest ways to improve and
help finance team meet strategic goals in a non-threatening way - change agent
--- Proven ability to keep manager informed of wins, challenges, and current projects
--- Strong written and verbal communication skills
--- Strong team approach
