This candidate will work closely and collaboratively with stakeholders to plan, direct, organize, and execute against project requirements. The ideal candidate will identify and acquire necessary resources and coordinate efforts by all parties to ensure timely delivery of project outcomes in accordance with client and stakeholder expectations. The responsibilities are broad in scope, encompassing a wide variety of activities requiring frequent reassessment of priorities. This candidate will take initiative, demonstrate a sense of engagement , have excellent organizational skills, work with teams on individual projects, and follow through on commitments to achieve high-quality, repeatable results. The ideal candidate will oversee all FSE information technology and development-related projects ensuring that cross-unit projects are executed and administered successfully.Salary Range$61,750 - $80,000 per year; DOEClose Date04-January-2022Essential DutiesPlans, develops, implements, and manages a project team through complete task definition and work requirement identification and assignment.Builds, develops, and maintains collaborative working relationships across FSE, University and third party vendors vital to project success, including managing differing priorities and resolving conflict.Works closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders, leadership, and other related staff to define project objectives and scope, strategy, schedule, budget, procedures, and outcomes during various phases of project life cycle.Identifies critical resource expertise and targets appropriate sources to ensure optimal outcomes.Establishes and continually monitors/manages project expectations with teams.Responds to all inquiries regarding project status, service as liaison for project team at meetings, and communicates relevant project information to personnel; if relevant ensures compliance is met.Manages, coaches, and supervises a team to ensure optimal outcomes.Prepares and maintains all project status reports; tracks milestones/deliverables, risks, critical paths, and dependencies; develops roadmaps and iterative project plans; resets expectations as needed in consideration of project progress/outcomes.Prepares all post-project reports, budget allocations and summaries to ensure timely dissemination of information to all interested parties.Assumes or coordinates other duties or projects as assigned or directed by the Director.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree and 5 years related experience; 1 of which are in project management, or any equivalent combination of experience and /or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.Desired QualificationsExperience in project management and/or program administration, including managing teams, creating project schedules, establishing priorities, assigning tasks, tracking milestones, meeting deadlines, solving problems, monitoring budgets, and preparing project status reports for complex projects within IT.Experience developing strategies, implementing change management practices, and managing multiple complex and ambiguous technology projects simultaneously.Experience in clarifying roles and responsibilities to ensure understanding of expectations; takes action to mitigate conflict.Evidence of effective professional written and verbal communications and presentation skills; flexible communication style based on context and audience.Evidence of Project Management certification from the Project Management Institute.Experience in establishing and maintaining strong, effective, and collaborative working relationships with diverse stakeholders.Experience managing projects with various project management methodologies, including agile and/or scrum.Experience managing projects in a higher education environment.Experience in work that requires attention to detail, efficiency, and organization skills.Experience in building strong professional relationships through collaborations and influence without authority.Working EnvironmentActivities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 25 pounds.Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.Position may involve shared offices, telecommuting, and working at Polytechnic Campus as needed.Department StatementThis position is in the Engineering Technical Services Department of the Ira A.
