TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ER/Trauma RN in Phoenix, Arizona, 85013! Pay Information $2,176 per week About The Position Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: ER Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Evenings Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: - 1 year of trauma level 1 experience - Cerner experience Description: Medical Solutions pre-screens candidates. If clinical recommends, candidates will be sent for manager approval. Candidates are required to pass a DYS exam prior to accepting. Two attempts are allowed; if failed, candidates will be designated "Do Not Use" for 6 months. First-time travelers are not accepted. Candidates must have one year of trauma level 1 experience. Candidates will be screened with a minimum of 8 months of experience. Candidates must indicate Cerner experience clearly on their resume under work history. The manager wants to see level I experience as permanent staff and traveler. Candidates may float between multiple facilities. Float policy involves traveling between different facilities that are about 30 minutes apart. Candidates can be floated mid-shift. All RNs will be expected to complete skills labs for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes. Exceptions apply for specific units. Every nurse is expected to maintain a sterile field, as this is a frequently performed nursing skill. Candidates who are not competent in sterile field maintenance may not be a good fit. In addition to skills labs, candidates will also go through lifts, restraints, and wound care training for educational purposes. The unit has a total of 36 acute beds and 54 subacute beds. There are six trauma bays. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Preferred certifications are TNCC and ATCN. ENPC cannot replace PALS certification. Patient ratios are 1:4. The electronic medical record system used is Cerner. There are two charge RNs who will assign tasks or manage a light patient load. Nurse aides are available for additional support. Weekend requirements involve four weekend shifts per month, based on unit discretion. Scrub color is navy. Telemetry is managed by Phillips monitors, and nurses must be able to read strips. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7. Pharmacists are present in the emergency department for ten hours a day. Shifts available include 7a-7p, 7p-7a, 11a-11p, and 1p-1a. Staff may float within the emergency room. Orientation lasts for 2-3 shifts on the floor. Common diagnoses and types of patients include trauma, burns, and pediatrics. The unit handles 88,000 patients annually, averaging 250-300 per day. There are 30-40 psych holds managed within the department.
